OCALA -- Florida Highway Patrol troopers have identified a suspect in the hit-and-run death of a 22-year-old woman struck while driving a scooter on Dec. 1.

The suspect, Caesar Perez-Roque, 28, of Ocala, is believed to have fled to Mexico, according to an FHP media release. Troopers have obtained an international warrant for his arrest.

The woman, Gypsy Star McEntire, was traveling west on West State Road 40 near Northwest 49th Avenue when her scooter was struck by a 2006 Chrysler 300. The 22-year-old woman was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center where she died on Dec. 1 ...

During their investigation, troopers said they received information that Perez-Rogue, an undocumented immigrant from Mexico, is the registered owner of the car but he does not have a valid driver's license. Troopers were told that after the crash, Perez-Rogue called relatives and wanted someone to pick him up and also to hide the vehicle.
