A 20-year-old man will spend seven years in prison after pleading guilty Monday to charges stemming from a fatal two-vehicle crash in late June.

Jesus P. Pelico, a native of Guatemala in the U.S. illegally, was sentenced in Stark County Common Pleas Court on a charge of aggravated vehicular homicide in the death of Leone Turpin, 28, of Canton.

The defendant also pleaded guilty to charges of operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, a drug of abuse or a combination of them and failure to stop.
