On December 9, 2010, the Senate voted against taking up S. 3992 the "DREAM Act." I voted against it. The "DREAM Act" would grant amnesty to illegal immigrants who are accepted into a higher education program. Please know that I will continue to fight against amnesty and keep your opposition in mind as I continue my work in the Senate.

I think we can still get a NO from Senator Lugar of Indiana. Although he is pro-DA his staffers will not commit to a yes vote now. It seems he is upset with Dirty Harrys shinanigans and his stopping the vote Thurs.

Call him and engage his staffers and tell them nicely our side of this arguement.

Even after reading trough this I can't figure out the most critical to call.

Like many, I am totally exhausted with all the fights this year, and want to focus where it matters most.

I know my two senators are lost causes with grades of F and D- from Numbers USA.

Although I KNOW my 2 Senators will vote FOR cloture, I sent the below email to them, and called Senator Cantwell's office, talked to a staffer and reminded him that she's up for re-election in 2012, that I WILL remember her vote. Told him I'm livid about the SNEAKY LAWYER TRICK re the waiver, and that WE NOW KNOW. I asked him to tell her to vote 'NO'.

I've called Senator Murray's office a few times, just a stuffed, unable to leave a message, mailbox.

I will now start calling your list.

I just found out about ANOTHER sneaky lawyer trick in the NIGHTMARE
(DREAM) act...

The bill also contains the line allowing Janet Napolitano to arbitrarily
waive any and all provisions and grant mass Amnesty to about every illegal
alien in America if she or her successor wants to.

"(2) WAIVER- With respect to any benefit under this Act, the Secretary of
Homeland Security may waive the ground of inadmissibility under paragraph
(1), (4), or (6) of section 212(a) of the Immigration and Nationality Act
(8 U.S.C. 1182(a)) and the ground of deportability under paragraph (1) of
section 237(a) of that Act (8 U.S.C. 1227(a)) for humanitarian purposes or
family unity or when it is otherwise in the public interest."

Did get through to Lugar's office. Polite Staffer. I politely indicated that we are aware of the sneaky lawyer trick of the 'waiver' for DHS, that this is a slap in the face to AMERICANS AND LEGAL immigrants, that our nationwide vote in Nov. proves that the AMERICAN people do NOT want amnesty, and was told that my message would be passed on.

I have called all senators listed except for 2. This is my advice - call their local office if the Washington line is busy. Be sure to call the senators voting "No" to thank them for their support. You can tell their staff really appreciates a positive call and we need to show our gratitude for their opposition.
The supporters, I tell this is an anti-American bill and is amnesty. I ask them to reconsider their yes vote and vote no. I tell them the American people let their wishes be known in the last election and this lame duck congress should just go home and stop trying to put the screws to the American people and let the new Congress do their job. I also told them the American people will do what they can to defeat them in the next election if they continue to support the Dream Act. I also told them (when asked for my zip code) that I KNOW they are taking calls from Illegal Aliens and I don't know what zip code they're using, but I am an American citizen calling all Senators to tell them the wishes of the American people and it shouldn't matter what zip code I am calling from. This usually got them to back off on that question.

Good information about the waiver. The aim of the White House and DHS is to give as big a blanket of amnesty to their new Democrat voting bloc, and even some RINO Republicans seem willing to hand it to them.

Keep contacting offices, radio, internet news. Alert family, friends and others about this very bad Christmas present to the American people that amnesty supporters want to thrust upon us.

Lost jobs will increase, American students will be pushed aside to accommodate the preferred illegal aliens turned legal residents. We will again be gnoring those who follow the law and ignoring those who now wait for a legal opportunity to enter the United States. What mockery.
