My suggestion to fundraisers: Don't pester me by asking me over and over again if I have donated to your organization---Salvation Army, Red Cross, Little League, Catholic Charities, The Cancer Society---because the moment that you put me on the defensive by asking me the three magic words "did you donate?" is the very moment that you won't ever see a penny from me.

So, Vortex, it is very, very impolite to ask a person if he has donated to an organization, whether the organization is the Salvation Army, the local high school marching band, the Heart Association, The Cancer Society, or ALIPAC.

Perhaps it was just the use of you, rather than we, that bothered me. I suppose I was just hoping that you did not leave and expressed myself very badly.
