Mike Huckabee Campaign Asked to Remove Deceptive Amnesty Pledge

The illegal immigration and amnesty fighting organization Americans for Legal Immigration PAC is calling on Mike Huckabee's campaign for President to immediately remove clearly deceptive language falsely claiming he opposes amnesty for illegal immigrants on his websites and social media pages.

There is a "no amnesty" pledge displayed prominently on Mike Huckabee's website (click to view) where he claims, "I will oppose amnesty and government benefits for illegal immigrants who violated our laws..."

This false advertising is in direct contradiction to Mike Huckabee's record where he has supported amnesty for illegal immigrants at least 3 times while aggressively supporting in-state tuition government benefits for illegals!

"ALIPAC's research into the immigration positions of GOP candidates finds most of them trying to conceal their support for amnesty, but the Hucakbee deception attempt is so flagrant and so over the top we feel it needs to be corrected!" said William Gheen, President of ALIPAC. "Mike Huckabee is lying and trying to tempt conservative evangelical voters who oppose amnesty to give him their emails, donations, and votes when, in fact, his true positions are 180 degrees opposite from his advertising. This is how he has earned his nickname "the Huckster"!

According to ALIPAC's candidate profile for Mike Huckabee (click to view), the Huckster supported amnesty legislation for illegal immigrants during the Bush administration in 2006 through 2008! Mike Huckabee is also on the record in a Jan. 29, 2015, Bloomberg article stating his support for Dream Act Amnesty.

And ALIPAC's researchers found an audio file of Huckabee interviewing amnesty bill (S. 744) sponsor Marco Rubio about his amnesty legislation where Huckabee goes on record supporting the bill saying, "It (S. 744) sounds like it is a very responsible, and even-handed approach that I hope Republicans and Democrats can come together on..."

Mike Huckabee also contradicts his "no amnesty" pledge provision about government benefits because he supports in-state tuition subsidies for illegal aliens. Mike Huckabee's support for illegal immigration has earned him a place at the top of ALIPAC's 'Cantor List' of Republicans being targeted for defeat in 2016 (click to view).

"Mike Huckabee is spending a lot of time, energy, and money trying to convince people he opposes amnesty and government benefits for illegals when, in fact, Huckabee is on the record supporting both. It is time for him to end this charade and remove the political wire fraud from his communications," said William Gheen.

This is not Mike Huckabee's first attempt to deceive GOP primary voters about his support for Amnesty. In 2008, ALIPAC launched a campaign to warn voters about Huckabee's trickery, and when Huckabee tried to mask his amnesty support with an endorsement from Minuteman Co-Founder Jim Gilchrist, 84 illegal immigration fighting leaders signed an open letter rebuking Gilchrist and Huckabee (click to view).

ALIPAC is encouraging members of the media and online activists to take steps to forewarn the public about Mike Huckabee's deceptive and contradictory campaign messages about illegal immigration and would like to remind Mike Huckabee that Christians are called upon to not engage in such trickery and deceit!
