Thank You W for helping to shed some optomistic light in what has seemed so dark due to circumstances during this election cycle.

Hello arrow782001, Thanks for your service and God's speed back to your family and home. Good luck with your business venture also.

Also W, excellent analysis on the order of congressional business to be conducted prior to any attempts for a successful coup.

William, we have one from Oregon that I do know is an ally for us (well, I admit, I have not looked at his complete record, but he has voted in our favor on the Comprehensive Immigration Reform in 2007), that is Congressman Peter DeFazio of Coos, Oregon. Really good guy, Democrat, but has been described as a populist.

Stopping our communications through radio and the internet would be the worst thing that can happen to us. That really scares me. We would be totally left in the dark and have no one to turn to for information concerning ANY real news that could have major affects with regards to illegal immigration, gun controls, border & port security, and or any other legislation that could chop apart our constitution.

I have concerns too, but I cannot see that any one politician can stop us from having the freedom to use the radio, tv or internet to communicate with each other. I cannot see anyone in this nation allowing it to happen, no matter which side they are on. I would be asking the ACLU to even speak up (yeah I know...that would be like being in league with Satan).

    Fairness Doctrine

House and Senate members are already working on draft legislation to restore the "Fairness Doctrine" from the 80's. Obviously, just as with the Digital Rights Management legislation, and the recent court rulings in the telecom industry, the Fairness Doctrine will be updated to allow Congressional oversight of the Internet, and electronic messaging. Grass roots organizations will be treated the same as conservative broadcasters. Demanding that broadcasters provide equal time and promotion for opposing views is like forcing someone to pay the legal costs of defending and prosecuting themselves at the same time (I realize this happens all the time in family court). The costs and liability of providing a public forum for which no commercial benefit will be derived (advertisers voted with their wallets on Air America and other liberal media) will soon force broadcasters to eliminate all free speach from their programming lest they be saddled with the cost and liability of producing and broadcasting an opposing view that would not be supported by any commercial interest. Essentially, the Fairness Doctrine if reinstated would destry what remains of America's Broadcast media, our advertising industroy, and doubtless would cripple grass roots movements, and render the Internet useless as anything other than a porn resource and a mail order catalog. Rather than write to the stations and networks telling them what a teriffic or terrible job they are doing, we should all be writing, faxing, e-mailing, visiting our House and Senate members and demand that they oppose any attempt to restore the Fairness Doctrine, or limit the free speach rights of broadcasters and grass roots organizations. Legislators will be coming home to their districts for the holidays, and nothing get their attention like a group of constituents waiting in their office to "speak" with them!
