Well, actually, I don't think you compiled, wrote and published the articles that you read and posted here. When I state "those behind the claim", I'm referring to the concerted effort by the individuals whose articles you posted that were clearly conspired by the income tax industry, because of the number of errors, misstatements, inaccuracies, deceptions, false statements, and even outright blatant lies about the FairTax that were contained in them, with the common theme that the FairTax will kill jobs, reduce consumption, and is somehow unfair to the poor.

The facts are that the only jobs the FairTax will kill are those in the tax industry and the IRS, the only consumption it will curb is consumption of new goods by people who will choose for a variety of reasons to purchase used goods, and because people pay the same rate and are eligible at their whim for the same rebate, there's nothing unfair about it for the poor since they would be fully rebated for the maximum they could or would or might spend up to the household consumption allowance which is higher than the income for poverty level, and is the same for everyone who is a US citizen or permanent legal resident.

Only those with a financial interest in keeping the income tax would come up with false statements like the FairTax will kill jobs, reduce consumption and be unfair to the poor, in an effort to keep their gravy train going, because the FairTax will increase jobs by creating an income tax free environment for our producers, manufacturers, and supply-chain service providers which reduces their costs; increase consumption through greater net disposable income which is the key determinant of someone's ability to consume in the United States' and will be more than fair to the poor who don't pay any FairTaxes after their rebate, and more importantly they will have many more new job and higher wage opportunities so they won't be poor any more.

It's true that the FairTax doesn't cater to the poor or create any special advantage for them just as it doesn't cater or provide any special advantage for anyone else. Everyone is subject to the same sales tax for the same items, and everyone who is a citizen or legal permanent resident is eligible for the rebate if they want it.

In our language, the word "fair" means treating people equally without bias, prejudice, personal opinion, or special favor. The FairTax does exactly that, it treats all businesses the same, none pay any FairTax on goods and services used in production and requires them all to collect a retail national sales tax for all new goods and services, domestic or foreign, sold at the final retail point of sale; it treats all retail consumers the same who are charged the same FairTax on all new goods and services; and it treats all citizens and legal permanent residents the same on the Rebate. That's why it's called the FairTax.

For those who think that's not fair, then they are not actually interested in fair and equal, they are interested in special favors based on personal opinion, and that's not fair in our language. We have a current income tax code that consists of over 77,000 pages of such unfairness, representing all the personal opinions and special favors their money can buy at election time. The FairTax ends that, and of course, that will upset the apple carts of those using the federal tax code to line their pockets or obtain a special advantage or exception, which to them is what is "unfair".

But as we've said to each other many times, we can agree to disagree.

Small business owners forced to battle IRS over seized bank accounts

    Published February 11, 2015

Andrew Clyde, a Navy veteran who served in Iraq, started his small firearms store in Athens, Ga., in the 1990s.
Over the years, he watched his business grow.

And then, on April 12, 2013, two IRS agents swooped in and seized nearly a million dollars from his company's bank account.

Clyde was on the wrong end of a murky federal program that allows agencies to seize assets they suspect could be tied to criminal activity -- even without actual criminal activity.

The soft-spoken small businessman joined others in recalling their ordeals before a House hearing on Wednesday, where IRS Commissioner John Koskinen also testified.

Koskinen, who apologized to those snared by the IRS practice, assured that the agency stopped seizing assets without clear wrongdoing in October.

But the law that allowed Clyde and others to be targeted is still on the books.

“I did not serve three combat tours in Iraq only to come home and be extorted” by the government, Clyde testified Wednesday. He urged Congress to change the law.

The law in question falls under the Bank Secrecy Act. Under the law, financial companies must report cash deposits more than $10,000. But since terrorists and other criminals know this rule, banks also must report patterns of deposits slightly below the $10,000 threshold.

Clyde was accused of what's known as "structuring" -- that is, making deposits deliberately calculated to skirt reporting requirements -- because he made frequent deposits just under $10,000.

But Clyde says he only did that because of his insurance policy.

While most transactions at Clyde Armory are not in cash, the Sandy Hook school shooting in Newtown, Conn., and the potential for new firearms laws, drove sales. Clyde's business made millions of dollars, about 15 percent of it in cash transactions. Clyde's business manager made daily deposits, and based on the dollar value of his insurance policy -- capped at $10,000 -- the company policy was to not ever hold more than $10,000 cash.

The total cost of the IRS ordeal for Clyde ran over $150,000 – including legal fees and a $50,000 settlement with the IRS to get the rest of his money back.

He pleaded Wednesday for Congress to change the law so that no one else would be hurt like he has.
"You've been violated by your government," Rep. Mike Kelly, R-Pa., thundered at Wednesday's House Ways and Means Committee's oversight subcommittee hearing.

Clyde wasn’t the only one. Maryland creamery owner Randy Sowers and Jeff Hirsch, a tobacco and candy distributor in New York, also run legitimate businesses. Yet the IRS seized their assets anyway, creating massive legal bills and hurting their businesses.

Hirsch and Sowers lost at least $60,000 each when the IRS seized their assets for making suspicious-looking deposits. They also suffered embarrassment.

In a recent statement, Koskinen defended current IRS practices. "The IRS pursue seizures only when there is probable cause that the money is subject to forfeiture -- and only after seizure affidavits have been reviewed by a federal prosecutor and authorized by a federal judge," he said.

The Institute for Justice, a Washington-based public interest law firm, is demanding reform. The institute found that in one-third of the IRS cases it examined, there was no claim of any criminal activity -- just the allegation of “structuring.” It took an average of one year to get the money back, and only half of it was returned, according to the study. The firm's analysis showed the median amount seized was $34,000.

House oversight subcommittee members showed sympathy to the panelists on Wednesday and appeared to voice bipartisan support for reworking the law.
This is so outrageous. It's just inconceivable that the proponents of the income tax, regardless of their reasons or motives for supporting such a tax system, would ever want an agency whose role is only to collect income and other tax revenue to become a tool of law enforcement for criminal activity, an agency that sends out billions of taxpayers of hard earned money directly to the bank accounts of illegal aliens who are guilty of criminal activity by definition. Has it ever seized the bank accounts of illegal aliens for illegal criminal activity such as violating US immigration, US labor and US civil rights laws? Not that I know of.

With all that we know about the income tax code and the behavior of the IRS that links them directly to so many of our problems, I just don't understand how anyone can still support this tax system or this agency.

Set Americans free from this burden, pass the FairTax now. Please. HR 25 in the US House of Representatives and S 155 in the US Senate. Start fixing problems by reversing the policies that caused this disaster.
