A child, one raised in the public school disaster, happens to say someone is brown (maybe said it??), and it's automatically a "hate crime"? Maybe, if he did indeed commit the "crime" in question, it referred to someone's dirty clothes after playing in the sandbox at recess? Oh wait, American schools don't provide recess anymore

So if someone mentions the racist group "brown berets," they better call them "latino berets?"

Ah, this is nothing that sticking all parties involved in a forced reeducation camp for a few months won't fix, right comrades?

Of course the principle should have lectured the lad about thought crimes that lead to hate crimes. Now the teacher is suspected of being a thought criminal teaching the child how to evade the thought police. (sarc)

    Right on William!!

If that is the boy in the above picture I'd say he is brown, so now our children are not aloud to speak the truth. Talk about confusing children, no wonder so many children today are having problems, this kid does not need counseling, the teacher does and is not competent enough to be teaching children of any grade or age.

I'm glad the mother had the good sense to remove her child from such a hateful school.

Schools are getting way out of line!!

What I'd like to know is when and why was the parent of the "brown person" allowed to speak to the student, without the mother's knowledge? I believe this violates some of his rights.

    Definitely lawsuit time!

Someone explain to me why it is okay to use the term "white people" but it's racist to say "brown people"? Perhaps it is an inferiority complex? Personally, I am not offended by the term, it is what I am...actually, I'm a little more olive color, so maybe the term "green people" would apply in my case.

I don't know why they assume being white is all that great, we white people spent most of our life in the sun trying to get brown, and ended up with alot of skin cancer and wrinkles!

Thank God we are all the same on the inside...the difference is in education, culture, values, respect for others personally and for their country.

    This is rediculous.

I was told this by a friend of mine who is a hyphenated American
he once said that his people can not be racist regardless due to the fact that white people have the power.

he went on to say nothing he or any other race can say or do can be racist only white people can be racist.

    sadly this is true.
the government will not ever charge a minority of a hate crime on a white person.

look at what happened to that truck driver in la during the riots.

the reality is that if you are white and get into a conflict the minority knows he just has to claim you made a racist comment to have you locked up for life.

    this country is finished.

You bring up a lot of good points. I'm a person of mixed background I have some Hispanic heritage from Mexico and some of my ancestors were Spanish conquistors on my dad's side. My mother's heritage is French and Italian. She has been called dergeatory terms by people for being white. Even some of my dad's relatives never accepted her. I know many minorites who have racist beliefs and they too believe that only white people can be racist. I had Hispanic friends in high school who used to say that "white people always have better lives because they are white." I think there are many minorities who sometimes fail to look at people of different races as human beings. I have many friends of different races and the reason I'm friends with them is because I always try to find common ground with people. Racism is a universal conditon and anyone can be a victim of racism. The story about 9-year-old is ridiculous.

sounds like the boy and his mother need to get a hold of the
ACLJ and fight the school, for a lawsuit.
