Thread: ACLU SUES UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT AND CORPORATIONS

the aclu has filed suit against the united states government and corporations over - I think - detaining foreiners thought to be terrorists- I just heard this on NPR - so I dont have all the details-
and they are suing corporations too -

Well I just did a google search " can the US government be Sued" got back lots where it has been sued numerous times in the past. Don't know if or how many won.

Those guys at ACLU really need to take up a hobby besides illegal immigration.

yes! does anyone remeber the name of the site- called jobtracker or something- where violations like outsourcing are listed - apparently all fifty states have some sort of lesgislation going on- Ive got to start taking notes~ otherwise I lose track of where I found things!

I SAW that, Butterbean. I didn't get all of it but I will see if I can find it and post it. That's what EVERY town should do. It would put a screeching halt to the BLEEDING of American jobs if every town just chose to boycott these companies. I'm thinking VERY SERIOUSLY about moving my money to some bank OTHER that Wachovia.

Well some much needed common sense tonight in the fight over outsourcing. The Burlington, Vermont, city council passed a law banning outsourcers from doing business with the city.

Under this law, Burlington will not award service contracts over $50,000 to firms that out source work overseas. And that brings us to our quote of the day, which comes from the Burlington City Council member, Phil Fiermonte.

And he calls the ordinance, quote, "a modest but important step that our city can take to help protect workers in Burlington. And to send a message to Burlington public officials they are not going to stand by idly as corporations ship jobs overseas."

If only more politicians in the country would follow the lead of the Burlington, Vermont, City Council.
