My husband has an account with Wachovia. He called the bank just yesterday with a question and got an Indian accented man and asked for another person because he couldnt understand him. I told him he should move his account because they are making money off Americans, but also laying off Americans and outsourcing their jobs to India.

I know. My son moved his Wachovia account a couple of months ago when he first heard they were outsourcing but, I swear, it is just SO MUCH TROUBLE to go through all that MESS. New checks, new credit cards, yadayadayada! Just basically lazy???

IT IS alot of trouble! And Wachovia wont be the only one, because what one bank does, another bank follows.
What bothers me is that I want to do business with someone I can communicate with, and someone that I can see. I dont want my personal records being overseas anywhere. If I wanted to go to an India bank, I would fly to one and have them handle my account. If I go to an American bank, I expect American provided services.

Wachovia also will give illegals loans for homes. I'll not bank with Wachovia and my sister has worked for them for over 25 years. Yes she knows how I feel about giving illegals anything.

I left the Bank of America ,me and about 100,000 other people because of their evil practices- to washingon mutual- not that this is a perfect bank either-
if you can join a credit union for teachers thats the best thing!

THAT's the problem. It won't be long before EVERY bank follows Wachovia. We do have a local bank here and I might see what they have to offer.

I've been with BB&T for about 12 years seems to be ok and know all th elocal folks working there.

I'm pretty sure most banks have the same practices as it pertains to illegals. See, I don't know that there is any law in this country that says they can't buy houses, etc. And the bank can't refuse to loan money to people as long as they can prove they can repay it. It isn't the bank's responsibility to see if they are legal hires or not as long as the bank didn't hire them.

One big vicious circle.

But if anyone hears of a bank that REFUSES to loan illegals money or does anything to make life difficult for them, announce it. I'll change banks for THAT feature.
