Does the Teamster leadership have an agenda, then, that is not popularly endorsed by members, locals, or local organizers?
From the sounds of the two conversations with two different union guys, I gathered that they both had views leaning our direction. I think it is entirely possible that union members feel differently than that of the national leadership, although, to me it seems troublesome to have leadership which has a more OBL agenda, which is effectively selling out their members in the long run.

My first thought on this is that yes, they may think, as our politcians might about the votes, that having amnesty will make more union members, but truthfully we all know that all too many of the current illegal aliens would not join a union.

Truckers outraged at impending opening of Mexican border

Calls and letters are flooding into the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association from truckers expressing everything from dismay, to outrage, to genuine fear for their livelihood with the opening of the border to Mexican motor carriers.

The message has been loud and clear from Congress to the Bush administration that this program is not to move forward without being thoroughly checked. The fact that it’s being shoved through without complying with the letter of the law is not sitting well with a lot of truckers – truckers like Gail Daugherty.

Daugherty, a 20-year plus OTR driver and one who makes frequent trips to Laredo, TX, has seen first hand the trucks and trailers operating in the commercial zone under the current cross-border agreement.

WND has discovered a previously unreported connection between the case of Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean and the Department of Transportation's Mexican truck-demonstration project.

In the Ramos-Compean case, the two agents convicted for 11 and 12 year prison terms respectively for shooting a Mexican drug smuggler, an overlooked fact is that the fleeing smuggler held a valid Mexican commercial drivers license at the time of the incident.

In his testimony at the trial of Ramos and Compean, Osbaldo Aldrete-Davila first testified that he held a commercial drivers license that expired in November 2004.

Under cross-examination from Ramos' defense counsel Mary Stillinger, Aldrete-Davila reversed his testimony, admitting he had two commercial drivers licenses and that one of the licenses, which authorized him to transport hazardous material, was valid until 2013.

Under close questioning, Stillinger refuted Aldrete-Davila's contention that a certificate on his second license required to transport hazardous material had expired six months before the drug incident involving Ramos and Compean.

Stillinger established that Aldrete-Davila had a certificate valid through December 2005, giving him permission to go into Pemex, Mexico's state-owned oil company, to transport gasoline.

We need to e-mail this article to all of our congressmen. This is a Homeland Security Nightmare. Those trucks could blow up any interstate they wanted.

A border fence with a hole big enough for Mexican trucks

It was all a waste of hot air. The real issue underlying the Mexican trucker controversy is not terrorism or the environment. It's economic. Mexican truckers cost less per mile than either American truckers or Canadian truckers. The American Trucking Association and big trucking companies like Celadon support opening up cross-border trucking, because the big trucking companies are multinational operations that own fleets of Mexican trucks in addition to their American and Canadian trucks. They'd love to be able to use their cheaper Mexican fleets to transport goods all the way to the ultimate point of destination. Independent truckers would face tougher competition, so they are naturally opposed.

    Mexico trucks to roll

    http://maconareaonline.com/news.asp?id=18317

he Bush administration can proceed with a plan to open the U.S. border to long haul Mexican trucks as early as next week after an appeals court rejected a bid by labor, consumer and environmental interests to block the initiative.

I am so angry!!! I just spoke with Allards Englewood office and Allard agrees with the deal for the Mexican Truckers.

I was told that this is in the agreement of the 1993 Nafta deal. The reason they were not agreeing to it earlier was the fact that Mexico wasn't going to allow our trucks to enter Mexico (?) so then our congressmen tried to oppose Mexico from entering US. Mexico finally agreed to let US Trucks in so our congress agreed for Mexican truckers to enter US.

All of them are a bunch of d***** TRAITORS, INCLUDING ALLARD!!!!!!!
I hope all of you fellow CO'ans wiill give him a piece of your mind!!!!!

Also... you should let the Secretary of the State of Colorado know that you are not happy about the ID required to vote. A utility bill is listed!!!!!!!
Please help save America for our children and grandchildren... they are counting on us. THEY DESERVE the goodness of AMERICA not to be given to those who are stealing our children's future! ... and a congress who works for THEM!
