    The REAL ID act is contained within this legislation. Is there a consensus that this is a bad thing? How is the government going to effectively handle, implement, fund and control this? Remember, their will still be fraud. On more step toward Big Brother?

    I'm still trying to find out why some anti-illegal immigrant House members didn't vote for this bill. Is there any way we can get a list of who voted against it?

    You know, I don't recall seeing anything in this bill that implements Employer verification. This should be included in this bill for security reasons. People could be hiring a terrorist and not know it.

    Here's a partial list of amendments listed on Thomas that were filed today on the Homeland Security Bill H.R. 2638 that I would be especially concerned with. There is no further info at this time, except the amendment number and their sponsor:

    S. Amdt 2383 (Diane Feinstein D-CA)
    S. Amdt 2390 (Hilary Clinton D-NY)
    S. Amdt 2391 and 2401 (Maria Cantwell D-WA)
    S. Amdt 2638 (Charles Schumer D- NY)
    S. Amdt 2397 (Russ Feingold D-WI)
    S. Amdt 2399 (John Kerry D-MA)

    Keep your eyes on these to see what their content is. More amendments may come up but that's what I found as of 3:00 pm ET.
