Thread: ALIPAC Exchange with REM Basist Mike Mills

This post is to document the the Twitter exchange between ALIPAC President William Gheen and the bass player of R.E.M. Mike Mills. Mills and R.E.M. lead vocalist Michael Stipe issued a cease and desist order to the Donald Trump campaign using a lot of foul language because a few seconds of their song It's the End of the World As We Know It was played at a Trump rally in DC protesting the Iran deal.

While copyright law allows anyone in America to use audio snippets of songs less than 30 seconds long, R.E.M.'s Mills & Stipe made it clear that they feel only those loyal to their leftist, Democrat Party, socialist ideology are allowed to play R.E.M. songs.

R.E.M. did not put any warnings or disclaimers on any of their products when selling albums to conservatives and liberals alike. If I'm not allowed to play a snippet of R.E.M. songs on the albums I've bought from them over the years now that I'm no longer an indoctrinated liberal, then I'd like a refund! -- William Gheen
