Thread: Call to Action! Please read,not just Oregon issue

I'm new to ALIPAC, so I apologize if this is redundant.

I live in Oregon and if you've seen my prior posts you know we've lost control. In Oregon, an illegal alien can go into any DMV with no proof of identity and get an Oregon Drivers License. In turn, the License serves as ID to get state social services. The State of Oregon is complicit by participating in Carousel of Information events put on by the Mexican Consulate. Yes, the State actually sends reps from the state agencies to inform known illegal aliens how to steal state services.

To the surprise of the geniuses at our state capitol, Oregon is now one of the top destinations in the country for illegal aliens. We noticed a big change about 1 1/2 year ago when my wife and I began to call the evening news, the illegal alien crime report.

My wife and I joined NumbersUSA about a year ago but felt frustrated that we couldn't do much with them locally.

I received an e mail about pending legislation to add common sense to illegal immigration in Oregon. The attached press release also pronounced that the legislation will likely be back-burnered by the legislature. That made me mad. Polls show this is the most important domestic issue in the minds of citizens and they want to put it on hold? I assume it will be back-burnered so they can complete the proposal to create a statewide sales tax. A sales tax is a proposal that everyone in government in Oregon knows will be defeated as it has been so many times I've lost count. Why work on DOA legislation while there are such larger problems? They concern themselves more with the rights of people who broke our laws to come here than those of us that are paying the bills.

For the first time in my life I called my State Senator's and State Representative's office about this legislation and was surprised by the reception I received. It was actually quite pleasant. I calmly explained my position on the issue, that I have party affiliation only because it's required to vote in the primaries and that I'm disappointed with the actions of both parties. I wanted to kill any partisan talk immediately. Anyhow, the experience of calling my legislators offices went surprisingly well.

I came upon ALIPAC last week and joined. One thing I've noticed is how massive the number of citizens against anti-illegal immigration is. The news media and our state government would have us believe that the only people that feel this way are racists and hate groups.

It's great for all of us, of like mind, to share stories and get fired up. However, based on what I'm hearing there is no substitute for picking up the phone when you hear about legislation in your state, county or city and calling your elected officials. I guarantee someone who has come here illegally won't be making that kind of call. It's the one distinct advantage we have.

The key to making this kind of grass roots action work is to spread the word. Ask all of your like minded friends, family and colleagues to do the same. Pick out 5 friends, have them pick 5 friends, etc. Be passionate and arm them with facts. Some of them may be afraid of being labeled racists. Explain that this is not about a specific race or legal immigration. Ask them how they would feel if they were a legal immigrant of the US witnessing this complete disregard for due process. Coach them on how to effectively influence our politicians with calm, cogent delivery of their opinion. This is the kind of message politicians cannot ignore, it's coming from taxpaying constituents.

Remember, everyone on ALIPAC has a similar mindset. The same goes with local conservative talkshows. It feels great to call in and voice your opinion but most listeners feel the same way you do. We have to reach those who don't necessarily share our views. I encourage everyone to continue to post and share information, but make the phones ring in your elected official's office.

Make this viral, get everyone you know on board and check in with them to make sure they made the call. If you know a police officer, jailer or hospital nurse, get them involved. They deal with the problems everyday and can speak from a respected position of authority. We can build an Army of callers and turn things around at a local level.

Don't be afraid to make that call. If you really can't call, at least craft a well written fax or letter and get it off immediately. This is your money they are spending on illegal aliens, you have an absolute right to express your dismay with their actions. Now is the time to act, before it's too late!

Remember, polls show 80% of citizens want the flood of illegal immigration stopped. You're part of that 80%, make your opinion known to those who spend your tax dollars. Be calm and armed with facts, we can win this war on the middle class.

I heard from a representative of another PAC talking on the radio, that it only takes between 40 and 50 calls on a topic to get your Congressmen's attention and that's not very many! She had been told that by a Congressman.

LET'S MAKE THOSE PHONES RING ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. If you live in a state that is not passing tough legislation, the states that are passing tough legislation are exporting their illegals to your state!

S9: Comprehensive Immigration Reform Bill - FOCUS CAMPAIGN

We need every activist's muscle with our FOCUS CAMPAIGNS, especially now that we're making a concerted effort to STOP CONGRESS from giving our country away.

Also, note what Chertoff has declared while visiting mexico. His words can be found in our "news" section. He declared AMNESTY.

I have free time tomorrow and will definitely get that done. Is it my imagination or are we making some progress? I'm yet to meet a single person that wants illegals in the country. PS No vacations in Mexico, our travel dollars are going elswhere.

Once an illegal gets a license in one state they can transfer it to another state without problems. since many states tie licenses to voting, every time an illegal gets a license there is another illegal voter.

Thank God Jeff Sessions is on the judiciary committee!

thanks nittygritty, I think the main point I was trying to make is to enlist the help of everyone we can. The membership of ALIPAC can't do it alone, but with our circle of influence we can stop the idiocy. Thumbs up, I'm glad to be part of ALIPAC.
