whats the verdict? When is he 'suppose' to veto things???

I plan to fax and call tomorrow also! Cornyns office sounded rushed. I asked the lady at Hutchisons office if they have been getting a lot of calls like mine and she said yes!

I was listening to Larry Elder this afternoon. Larry was in favor of the comprehensive reform bill that we squashed, by the way. A caller came on and was so abusive, nasty, and crazy sounding, he did more harm than good to our point of view on getting iillegal aliens out of our country. Just a reminder to make sure our "tone" is strong, firm, logical, etc.--but without that hysterical sound that wins no one to our viewpoint. I know we all feel passionate, but somehow, we have to keep our cool as we call or fax those messages! I've always been so impressed with the way William keeps his calm manner and just sticks to his points. We need to do the same.

THIS IS A VERY GOOD POINT. SOMETIMES THE FRUSTRATION BUILDS AND IS HARD TO CONTROL. BUT WHEN FAXING OR CALLING OUR REPS IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO USE SELF CONTROL. VENTING IS A GOOD THING, BUT THERE IS A TIME AND PLACE FOR IT. CHAT ROOMS ARE GOOD FOR VENTING. I GO TO AOL "IMMIGRATION DEBATE". THEN BY THE TIME I AM CONTACTING MY REPS I AM CALM AND FOCUSED.

Sorry I wasn’t able to join you here yesterday. However, I forwarded my letters and contact info to my faithful backup (my mom) and she devoted her entire day to emailing and calling. I won’t be able to be online until tonight, but my mom has assured me she will continue working for the cause today.

Your support of the Mexican Truck Pilot Program is unconscionable, and is a flagrant disregard for the will of the people who voted you into office and have the power to remove you. It is apparent your allegiance is not to the citizens of the United States, but rather to Mexico and special interest groups. Given the lax inspections at our borders due to understaffing and official directives, unsafe trucks will enter our country risking countless lives, including those of your family, friends and colleagues.

Furthermore, Mexican drug cartels own a large percentage of the trucking industry. One would have to be extremely naïve or stupid to believe they will not take advantage of every opportunity to transport illicit drugs into our country. Without thorough inspections, illicit drugs, weapons, explosives, illegal aliens, as well as terrorists, will easily enter this country. Without thorough inspections, countless Americans will be injured or killed due to faulty maintenance, impaired or unqualified drivers.

This is a matter of life or death, and if this project proceeds, the blood of every innocent victim of this program will be on your hands.

Please protect America! Stop the Mexican trucks! Stop the veto!

Thank you so much for voting yes on the Dorgan Amendment to cancel funding for the Mexican Truck Pilot Project. I am pleased you agree with the vast majority of Americans who oppose allowing unfettered access to our roads by trucks that cannot possibly be adequately inspected prior to entering our country. Without thorough inspections, we not only risk the lives of Americans traveling on our highways, we also risk having illicit drugs, weapons and terrorists entering our country at will. In addition, it will undoubtedly lead to an increase in the number of illegal aliens.

The security of our country and the safety of our national highways are in the hands of you and all members of Congress. I implore you to use your influence to ensure the Dorgan Amendment is signed into law, and to vote to override any veto by President Bush.

Please protect America! Stop the Mexican trucks! Stop the veto!
