I hope he succeeds with the big donors and the people support the ballot initiative, which I think they will. I mean the people of California have already passed Proposition 187. I also hope that before 2012, the US Congress in 2011 passes HB 1868 that ends birthright citizenship for children of illegal aliens.

Ditto Judy. It's really quite simple. Parents are legally responsible for any minor child under the age of 18. This means all minor anchors will be deported along with parents. There will be no option to stay.

    They must leave!
    Agreed!
If birthright citizenship is ended, the minors born here would also be illegal and would need to leave with their parents.

Sounds like a great Bill but it will be defeated. Why? The bosses do not want to get rid of illegal immigration. It's obvious. SO any Bill like that will be short-lived.

If not short lived, there will be a loooong fight over it.

Envision a Mexican woman lying with her butt on the border with her feet facing north. The nutjobs would have us accept that the baby thus born is a citizen of the United States? Now suppose someone spun her around so the feet face south. Now her offspring is Mexican? Could any American legislator think this little of citizenship and support such a ridiculous Amendment? Get serious!

Citizenship and country allegiance should transfer from the parents not where they were born. That law is antiquated from trying to protect slave born children that had no country to ally with. The US drafting citizenship is like Hijacking a kid...does not make sense.

The ballot initiative that would have ban California birth certificates to children of illegal aliens, thus denying them citizenship, was going to try to be on the Nov. 2010 ballot but they didn't get enough money to gather enough signatures to get it on the ballot. It is now being combined with other law changes that would cut off all benefits to all illegal aliens and their kids and they are working to get it ready for the 2012 election. Everything cost a lot of money and takes time.

It cost money to hire people to gather enough signatures to qualify it for the ballot. You have to pay attorneys to be sure everything is right, print the forms to be signed, advertise, filing fees, etc.

I can not understand why illegal immigrants and the key word is illegal are not charged with child endangerment. The purpose of child endangerment laws is to keep children from witnessing adult or illegal activity, and to protect them from situations in which they might get hurt.
