And........are they going to READ the 700 page monstrosity BEFORE the vote this time?

This is what I want to know and, I'm going to ask for their analysis of the bill. AND, just what part do they see as fair to American???

Not the taxpayers' dollars going to pay for the health and education and social welfare needs of their children. Not the overpopulation of our country and depletion of its resources.

Have they done a cost analysis or population analysis of the consequences of this bill down the road?

Doubt it. They didn't do it the first time they tried this.

    ProudAmericanFamily asked:
    Forgive me for being uninformed.
What is a blue dog democrat?
I need to know this before I can start calling.
It is basically a Democrat with supposedly conservative values that probably won the election by going farther to the 'right' than his Republican opponent in a conservative or tending conservative district.

Also dubbed by the print media as "Lou Dobbs Democrats" by their views on immigration and outsourcing.

    Thank you.
I am familiar with that concept but hadn't heard that term.
Now it makes sense to me.
I can call with confidence now!

    ProudAmericanFamily,

Yes, call, they need to be reminded! They are only in for 2 years before another election and many are first termers. The second term for a member of the House is always the hardest to win and they need to be reminded who voted for them!

One of the Blue Dog Democrats, Tim Mahoney won Mark Foley's seat, narrowly, in the 16th Congressional District of Florida. He is very vulnerable because he ran against the Republican candidate but they refused to take Foley's name off of the ballot.

Another Congressman won Tom Delay's seat in Texas. A judge refused to permit Delay's name to be replaced as the Republlican on the ticket. He almost lost to the write-in candidate. He is also exceedingly vulnerable.

I found an analysis of Democrats that either won because of Republican scandals or for other reasons in Republican or leaning Republican Districts in 2006. Many had been in strongly Republican Districts. They maybe the most vulnerable of all:

Tim Mahoney FL 16th District (Mark Foley’s seat)

    Harry Mitchell, AZ., 5th

    Gabrielle Giffords, AZ 8th

    Nancy Boyda Kansas, 2nd

    John Yarmouth, Kentucky, 3rd

    Tim Walz, Minnesota, 1st

    Carol Shea-Porter, NH 1st

    Paul Hodes, NH 2nd

    John Hall, NY, 19th

    Kirsten Gillibrand, NY, 20th

    Mike Acuri, NY, 24th

    Heath Schuler, NC, 11th

    Zack Space, Ohio, 18th

    Jason Altmire, PA, 4th

    Joe Sestak, PA, 7th

    Chris Carney, PA, 10th

Nick Lampson, TX, 16th (Delay’s seat)

    Steve Kagen, WI, 8th
