When I was in junior high I remember 2 of my classmates being recent non english speaking immigrants from Mexico. Neither of these two kids had the benefit of bilingual education back then. Even though both struggled with the english languge in the classroom, they were straight A students at report card time. One of them ended up being the Valedictorian of the high school I graduated from and received a full scholarship from Stanford. The other kid went on to law school and now in private practice. Bilingual education is a waste of money in my opinion. Immersion in English is better.

After reading so many people's woes, it kinda gets to me. I guess I am a serious person and to be very frank, I am SICK of Illegals. When I was out yesterday all I heard was Spanish and it was all I could do not to scream at them to either speak the language native to THIS country or go to the country that Spanish was spoken in!

California is really a beautiful state, in hours you can have several different climates, snow, heat, ocean, mountains with wonderful trees, the redwood forests etc.

I'm dying inside watching my home state be invaded and destroyed by filth, and non-caring (illegals) idiots from other countries that could give a damn what happens as long as they get their FREE services and their a$$es kissed by the feds and local governments along with the aclu!

I can't tell you the fantasy I have LOL, I could be arrested for just the thoughts of what I'd do!

We've talked about leaving but it seems to be a national problem so there really isn't any place to go except perhaps Mexico to avoid the illegals. I don't want to leave.

I try to stay positive and hopeful but day by day it just looks so impossible to get rid of all the socialists that want everyone to have the same things that the hard working people have. The hard working people that support and pay for all these free services that are expected by illegals.

Hey Mexico....deal with it! We kicked your butt and won the war. That means we keep Ca, AZ, NV, NM, TX and the rest of our UNITED STATES.
If you'd like to have a war to get back these states, bring it on! I'll fight just like my ancestors did and we may even add more property to our country next time! These states are NOT property of Mexico and we don't owe you a damn thing!

If that judge upholds this, they will have to do it for every white, black and every other nationality in the country. Our kids will not have to try anymore or put forth any effort. No wonder a high school diploma means nothing anymore in this country when anyone can obtain one, regardless if they can read or write.

I've lived all over the State, last in Del Mar in 1990. It was bad in San Diego County even then. Google 'Chicano Park' and see what they've done at the base of the Coronado Bridge. Imperial Beach looks like Tijuana, for God's sake!

We're in s. CA as well. We are moving this weekend back to the north end of CA. My mom signed up here too 'Lee' and we are all moving and glad to be leaving the south end. I doubt it's going to be a lot different but am hopeful. In any case, hubby will have a better chance for advancement in his career with this move

Back to packing..almost done. So darn hot today I'm taking breaks and coming here to learn more

When I was in college we had alot of people from other countries that didn't speak English. They taped the lectures and translated them to learn. But they WANTED to learn. These guys want a free ride.

Fourth Generation Native Californian here. There are many in CA who hate what's happening. We're out shouted, out financed, called names.
Please don't write us off, though, we're fighting as hard as we can. Just use us as the example -- as California goes, so goes the country. Don't believe it? How about smog control and bilingual education and day labor sites. And the biggest of all: ILLEGAL ALIENS. It started here first, as many things do, and now this cancer has spread to the rest of the states. We tried prop. 187, but the damn courts ruled it "unconstitutional."
We're still the UNITED STATES so please let's not write off California.
We don't want to be part of Atzlan.
