DHS fires employee running racist website

WASHINGTON — The Homeland Security Department has fired an employee who runs a website predicting and advocating a race war, about four months after he was put on paid administrative leave.

Ayo Kimathi was an acquisitions officer for Immigration and Customs Enforcement who dealt with small businesses. He also runs the website War on the Horizon, which includes descriptions of an “unavoidable, inevitable clash with the white race.” Kimathi is black.

He goes by the online pseudonym “Irritated Genie.”

In a brief statement, the department said Kimathi’s last day was Dec. 6.

Kimathi said in an email that he was proud of his work at ICE and predicted that fewer small businesses would win contracts after his firing.

Ayo Kimathi, a.k.a. “the Irritated Genie," a.k.a. the black supremacist employee of the Department of Homeland Security's U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency is "no longer an ICE employee," according to a statement from ICE's Deputy Press Secretary Gillian Christensen. "His last day with the agency was December 6," she added.

Christensen, citing privacy policies, declined to comment on whether Kimathi left voluntarily or not. Kimathi was placed on administrative leave after the Southern Poverty Law Center spotted the ICE employee's extracurricular advocacy in August. His personal website calls for the mass murder of white people.

Kimathi's site, "War is on the Horizon," apparently escaped the notice of his supervisors for years, although the agency reportedly started receiving complaints about him about two years ago. His old job required approval for extracurricular activities, but Kimathi only described his site by its acronym, "WoH," characterizing it as an entertainment site that sells videos of concerts and lectures. He did, however, sometimes use his real name in association with his activism, which among other things calls President Obama "a treasonous mulatto scum dweller" and lists him among his movement's other enemies. Kimathi also promotes a conspiracy theory arguing that white people are trying to "homosexualize" black men, and advocates for black male supremacy over that of black women.

The SPLC spoke to Kimathi's former supervisor in August, who said that "everybody in the office is afraid of him...people are afraid he will come in with a gun someday and go postal. I am astounded, he’s employed by the federal government, let alone Homeland Security.” The former supervisor discovered Kimathi's site over the summer.

In an email to the Wire, SPLC Campaign Director Josh Glasstetter called the development "welcome but long overdue news," noting that the "DHS had known for months about Kimathi’s promotion of violence." He added: "Regrettably, DHS only took action after we publicized his activities."

Kimathi began working for the agency in 2009. His 2012 salary was $115,731. In an email to the Associated Press the now-former ICE employee said he was proud of his work during his employment at DHS.

Black supremacist out at Homeland Security nearly four months after being exposed as race war advocate

The federal employee who was exposed over the summer as an advocate for race war and the mass murder of white people, is finally out at the Department of Homeland Security.

In August, the Southern Poverty Law Center revealed that Ayo Kimathi, a Customs and Immigration Service acquisitions specialist, had been running a website preparing for a race war and calling for the mass murder of white people.

“Warfare is eminent,” the SPLC quoted the website, “and in order for Black people to survive the 21st century, we are going to have to kill a lot of whites — more than our Christian hearts can possibly count.”

Kimathi was placed on paid administrative leave on Aug. 23 pending an investigation.

In November, National Journal reported Kimathi was still on paid administrative leave.

“This isn’t a mundane human resources matter or a tricky First Amendment question. DHS should have investigated and fired Kimathi months, or even years, ago,” the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Josh Glasstetter told National Journal in November.

Wednesday, nearly four months after the SPLC’s initial report, an ICE spokeswoman announced that Kimathi is no longer with the agency.

“Mr. Kimathi is no longer an ICE employee. His last day with the agency was December 6,” ICE spokeswoman Gillian Christensen said in an email.

When pressed for more details on the nature of his departure, Christensen explained to The Daily Caller, “Privacy policies established by [Office of Personnel Management] prevent us from commenting further other than to make you aware of the date his employment with the agency ended.”
