Thread: Does a Change in Status solve the Problem??

How will changing the status of illegals to legal immigrants through immigration reform solve the problem of our overcrowded schools, and our overburdened healthcare facilities and social services? I haven't heard anyone in Washington explain how these problems are all going to go away by the stroke of a pen, so to speak!


Bush said illegal immigration has put pressure on U.S. schools and hospitals, spawned more crime and caused other problems.

The only problem it solves is for congress and big business.

They think if they make them legal, there is nothing we can do about it.

There is still plenty we can do -

There is no meat on this bone for American workers. The amendment by Clinton to put some federal funds to reimbursing states was killed. They simply don't care in Washington.

I see no benefit to changing their status. They are pulling the race card an profiling and all the rest as it is now. I see it as becomming a free for all with our total destruction as the goal.

Isnt that the TRUTH! Well, let me change that to FALSE.
To change their status from illegal to legal, would ALSO CHANGE THEIR STATUS TO MINORITY! That would qualify them for even more benefits then they get now. And jobs, JOBS FOR MINORITIES. Hate crimes, HATE CRIMES AGAINST BROWN (?) PEOPLE. Oops, is this PROFILING?

Good point, you hit the nail right on the head. It goes to show you the BS that bush is trying to feed us. If you sit down and think about it as you did, it shows how ridiculous a statement it is. Obviously bush didn't put much thought into it. (I really wouldn't expect him to be able to!)

It wont fix anything. If all of the illegal immigrants are given legal status, they will want to bring their familes and then their extended familes and the list goes on and on and on.
