Feds Promote Rainbow Badges for Public School Faculty: I'm an LGBT 'Ally'

Providing "safe spaces" for "safe schools."

Where would the federal government be if it couldn't get its grubby hands into everything, including promoting LGBT-activism in public schools.
The Fed's anti-bullying initiative is now pushing its new "OUT for Safe Schools" program in which teachers and staff are encouraged to wear "rainbow badges" to identify them as "allies" of the LGBT community.
"School continues to be a dangerous place for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) youth," states a blog post on the OUT program's site. CNS provides additional details:

The blog said that 30,000 rainbow badges were provided to Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) teachers, administrators and staff “to wear voluntarily that proudly identify themselves as allies and protectors of students who are LGBT.”

“Despite increased public acceptance of LGBT people in general, many school campuses remain toxic environments for LGBT students, contributing to higher rates of suicide, depression, homelessness and HIV infection,” Lorri L. Jean, CEO of the Los Angeles LGBT Center.

"Since its launch, OUT for Safe Schools has enriched the lives of both students and staff members in the Los Angeles Unified School District,” LAUSD’s Board President Steve Zimmer is quoted as saying in the blog. “A whopping 30,000 of our employees—representing one-third of LAUSD’s entire staff—pledged to be visible allies of LGBT students by wearing the rainbow-designed badges.

“I have worn mine every day—there is nothing I am more proud to wear,” Zimmer said. “I applaud my district for stepping up to the plate and keeping all of our schools a safer space.

“No child should ever be bullied, taunted or harassed simply because they’re different,” Zimmer said.
No one should be bullied or taunted for simply being who they are, and faculty should most definitely ensure that all students remain safe from harm. But this is the real world, and kids are harassed at school for a lot less all the time and always will be. Heck, I was tormented all through my school days for having any number of traits deemed "unpopular" including being quiet and nerdy; for having black hair when most of peers were blonde; for being shorter than the average kid in my class; for not rolling up my school uniform shorts as high as they could go (that was a real fashion trend back in my school), and so on. Is it fun to grow up that way? No. Did I survive? Yes. And these kids will, too.
They may even grow up the tougher for it, but heaven forbid we let that happen. Life is not a "safe space" and I'm not quite sure what reality we are preparing kids for when we set unreasonable expectations of how said life will treat them.
For the record, this new OUT program has expanded to schools in New York, Chicago, Boston, Oakland, San Diego, San Francisco, Duval County, Florida and Washington, D.C., according to the report. That's "2.5 million students in grades K-12."http://www.truthrevolt.org/news/feds...y-im-lgbt-ally

Is there a more courageous and talented person in world history than Joan of Arc? The French made her a saint. Yet we in North Carolina don't want to tolerate people like Joan of Arc?

    Really??!!
This isn't about tolerance, it's about a right to privacy. I'm betting the majority of women in this country don't want to share their bathrooms, locker rooms, showers, or dressing rooms with biological men. Furthermore, I'll guarantee you they don't want their young daughters sharing these facilities with men! The notion that a transgenders rights should supersede the privacy rights of others just doesn't cut bait with me.

The Joan of Arc reach was a huge fail (IMO). I've read her trial transcripts, which are lengthy. She never once claimed to be a man or vocally eluded to being anything other than a woman. From what I gathered she was directed by God to dress as a man to fulfill her mission. She also claimed that dressing as a man protected her chastity. The poor girl may have had a mental issue, but I don't think it was gender dysphoria.

If you dress like a woman use the ladies room as you always have and visa versa but do not allow men in the ladies room. Or have a unisex 3rd room.

A woman's privacy & safety is paramount as she, youngsters & mentally impaired can be overtaken.

This law is for criminals and perverts, oh & the tiny population of lgbt - does not make any sense at all.

Gang Member 12 Hours Out of Jail Arrested for Rape in L.A. Public Park Restroom

    CBS LA

by Warner Todd Huston11 May 2016Los Angeles, CA

Police in Los Angeles arrested a man with known gang ties on charges of raping a woman in the restroom of a public park, court documents show.

Edgar Lobos, 27, was arrested after being identified by a 31-year-old rape victim about a day after she was attacked, police say.

The victim reported she was confronted by the suspect and forced at gunpoint into the bathroom of Lincoln Park on the evening of May 9.

The victim and witnesses who saw the abduction described distinctive tattoos on the suspect, leading police to Lobos. The suspect was found with a small hand gun, leading investigators to assume it was the same firearm he used to threaten the victim.

At a press conference announcing the arrest, police reported that Lobos had been released from prison a scant 12 hours before he allegedly raped the victim in the park bathroom. Lobos had just been released on probation from an earlier drug arrest.
LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division Capt. William Hayes noted that Lobos has “a rather lengthy criminal history” of vandalism, drug charges, and domestic violence. The suspect is also a known gang member with prominent tattoos on his face.

Lobos is being held in lieu of $1 million in bail and faces charges of kidnapping and rape.

Mixed-gender bathrooms pose a risk of harassment for women.

A prominent lesbian feminist activist is pushing to keep bathrooms segregated by gender on grounds that might sound familiar to conservatives: Mixed-gender restrooms would put women at risk of harassment and assault.

Sheila Jeffreys, an author and teacher who is “actively involved in feminist and lesbian feminist politics,” has published a piece explaining that women need separate restrooms because they are biologically different. These biological differences automatically put women at a higher risk for assault, she asserts, and to even consider exposing women to this risk just for the sake of “gender expression” is asinine.

“Women’s concerns are not seen as relevant here,” she wrote. “Rather, how the male-bodied transgender feels is the most important thing, and feeling embarrassed because women have been made to feel uncomfortable is less worrying than facing possible male violence in the ‘men’s.’ The entry of male-bodied transgenders into women’s facilities or the elimination of women’s facilities in favour of ‘gender-neutral’ bathrooms is likely to endanger women’s safety.”

The amount of pornography available online that includes photos men have taken by “stealth” of women in toilets and locker rooms proves this danger certainly exists: “A Google search of ‘upskirts in bathrooms,’ for example, produces 6,630,000 results,” she noted.

Jeffreys added that many of the people who have been caught sexually harassing women in bathrooms in the past few years have included men wearing women’s clothes — and that it is impossible to know the difference between transgender men and those who intend to exploit women. In the 19th century, the West fought hard for the right of women to have their own restrooms, and other countries are still fighting for this right today. In Delhi, for example, women are frequently kidnapped from mixed-gender bathrooms and raped.

“The loss of safe toilets for women at this juncture in the West as a result of campaigns to protect the right to ‘gender identity’ would be a serious step back from women’s equality,” she says. The best solution to the problem of bathrooms for transgender people, according to Jeffreys, is to have single-stall private bathrooms available, and to never under any circumstance allow men into women’s facilities. — Katherine Timpf is a reporter at National Review Online.

Obama commands no more sex segregated bathrooms in your local school

See Obama Administration to Issue Decree on Transgender Access to School Restrooms

”WASHINGTON — In the middle of a legal fight with North Carolina over transgender rights, the Obama administration is planning to issue a sweeping decree telling every public school district in the country to allow transgender students to use the bathrooms that match their gender identity.”

The constitutional arguments about sex-segregated bathrooms were exhaustively debated during the proposed Equal Rights Amendment and concluded that even with the ERA sex-segregated bathrooms were protected!

See: SHE THE PEOPLE: THE NINETEENTH AMENDMENT, SEX EQUALITY, FEDERALISM, AND THE FAMILY

"But during the 1970s, the decade sex discrimination doctrine was born, the law of equal protection had begun to contract around segregation as the archetypal scene of racial harm, group classification as its technology, and blindness as its remedy. A particular -- and highly stylized -- memory of race discrimination thus supplied the legal template for constitutional debates about sex discrimination.

During the 1970s, constitutional debates over sex discrimination continually referred back to this historically particular conception of race discrimination. In debates over the ERA, a litmus test for commitment to the sex equality principle was willingness to treat sex like race, which in turn translated into the question, reiterated in debate after debate: but would you eliminate sex-segregated bathrooms?[26]"

    Footnote 26 is as follows:

” JANE J. MANSBRIDGE, WHY WE LOST THE ERA 114 (1986) ("Unisex toilets became one of the four major themes that activists speaking to reporters and writing in the newspapers stressed as central to their opposition."). Proponents of the ERA denied that the amendment would necessarily lead to unisex bathrooms, and argued that privacy doctrine would protect bathrooms from sex desegregation. Barbara Brown, Thomas I. Emerson, Gail Falk & Ann E. Freedman, The Equal Rights Amendment: A Constitutional Basis for Equal Rights for Women, 80 YALE L. J. 871, 901 (1971) (arguing that "the right of privacy would permit the separation of the sexes in public rest rooms, segregation by sex in sleeping quarters of prisons or similar public institutions, and appropriate segregation of living conditions in the armed forces"); Ruth Bader Ginsburg, The Fear of the Equal Rights Amendment, WASH. POST, Apr. 7, 1975, at A21 ("Separate places to disrobe, sleep, perform personal bodily functions are permitted, in some situations required, by regard for individual privacy.").

So where does Obama get the authority to forbid sex segregated bathrooms in your local school?

Is it not time for patriotic America citizens to rise up in rebellion against a federal government which is acting in rebellion to our written Constitution and its legislative intent?

Obama to public schools: Let transgender students use bathroom of choice or else

    • 10hr May 13,2016

A bathroom sign welcomes both genders at the Cacao Cinnamon coffee shop in Durham North Carolina

The Obama administration is planning to issue a sweeping decree telling every public school district in the country to allow transgender students to use the bathrooms that match their gender identity, the New York Times reported on Thursday.

The letter to school districts that will go out on Friday describing what they should do to ensure that none of their students are discriminated against is signed by officials of the Justice Department and Education Department, according to the Times.

It does not have the force of law but contains an implicit threat that schools which do not abide by the Obama administration's interpretation of the law could face lawsuits or a loss of federal aid, the newspaper said.

“No student should ever have to go through the experience of feeling unwelcome at school or on a college campus,” John B. King Jr., the secretary of the Department of Education, said in a statement, according to The New York Times. “We must ensure that our young people know that whoever they are or wherever they come from, they have the opportunity to get a great education in an environment free from discrimination, harassment and violence.”

The decree comes in the wake of North Carolina's House Bill 2, a law that prevents local governments from passing nondiscrimination ordinances and bans transgender people from using the bathroom that corresponds with their gender identity.

The bill was passed through state legislature in a one-day special session in March and signed into law by Governor Pat McCrory hours later.

The US Department of Justice sued North Carolina on Monday, claiming the law violates the Civil Rights Act and Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. McCrory filed a lawsuit earlier that day contesting the department's mandate to repeal the law.

Experts say the law puts more than $5 billion of federal funding at risk for the state, according to the Raleigh News & Observer.

TOILET FACILITIES; USE BY SEX FOR WHICH NOT INTENDED.

Raleigh City Code Sec. 13-2015. – TOILET FACILITIES; USE BY SEX FOR WHICH NOT INTENDED.

"On public or on private property used by the public or patrons of a business establishment where separate toilet facilities are provided for the use of different sexes and such facilities are conspicuously labeled to give notice of the sex for which the facility is set apart, it shall be unlawful for a member of one sex to enter or use a facility provided for members of the opposite sex. Provided this section shall not be construed to prevent the inspection of toilet facilities by the owner or person in charge thereof or the designated agent of either, nor to prevent the performance of janitorial services therein by the person or persons designated to perform such services when members of the opposite sex are not present."

    Students flush Obama's bathroom stance

Lawsuit: 'Nothing in Title IX's text, structure, legislative history … addresses gender identity'

    Bob Unruh 5/16
The Obama administration, which earlier this week had to scramble to get into court after threatening a lawsuit over North Carolina’s law protecting women and children in restrooms, then finding the state already there filing its complaint first, now is being sued by students and parents over its demand that the state have open facilities statewide.

The complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina, Western Division, was brought by the Alliance Defending Freedom on behalf of North Carolinians for Privacy, involving both students and parents.

It cites the demands from the Obama administration that the state allow men who say they are women to use women’s restrooms, locker rooms and shower rooms, and vice versa.

The Obama administration last week had threatened to sue North Carolina over its new law, but then on Monday Attorney General Loretta Lynch had to scramble to get a court case going after finding out that North Carolina officials had beaten her to the punch and already had sued Washington.

Gov. Pat McCrory’s lawsuit contends the Obama administration’s interpretation of the 1964 Civil Rights Act – that Congress intended in that law at that time to provide open restrooms across the nation– not only is a vastly mistaken “overreach” but it also is a “bullying” of the state, which is exercising its constitutional authority to run its own affairs.

The issue arose as part of the Obama administration’s push for normalizing transgenderism across America. One city, Charlotte, adopted a rule requiring that transgenders be allowed to use whatever restroom with which they identity, but the state then stepped in to overrule that, setting a standard across the state.

It provides for protections for women and children in locker rooms that they would not be confronted by a man exposing himself, or something similar in restrooms. It also provides for transgenders, that when they complete their physical reassignment surgery and have their sex changed on their birth certificates, they are to use the restroom that is designated for that sex.

As part of Lynch’s agenda, she has threatened to withhold federal funding from individuals, such as students with federal loans, in the state.

The ADF lawsuit on behalf of the privacy organization said that goes too far.

“Nothing in Title IX’s text, structure, legislative history or accompanying regulations addresses gender identity,” the lawsuit explains.

“Indeed, recognizing that Title IX does not protect against discrimination because of ‘gender identity’ (but only against discrimination because of biological sex), beginning in 2011, Sen. Al Franken has repeatedly introduced legislation modeled after Title IX that would protect against discrimination because of gender identity in the education context, just as Title IX protects against discrimination because of sex.

“That legislation has failed to pass every year it has been introduced,” it says.

To expand the definition of discrimination would require congressional action or a rule-making process the Obama administration failed to follow, it alleges.

In fact, it notes that the Obama administration’s plan actually would create – not eliminate – discrimination.
“DOJ’s ultimatum seeks to compel the university system to allow some, but not all, biological males the right of entry and use of female restrooms and locker rooms. … So, under DOJ’s ultimatum, those biological males whose gender identity is female would be allowed access to the female restrooms and locker rooms, but those biological males whose gender identity is male would be denied such access.

“The result just described would be impermissible discrimination on the basis of gender identity, because it would make a biological male student’s gender identity the determining factor for whether he could access the female facilities, and vice versa.”

ADF explained, “The DOJ disregarded student privacy and safety when it issued letters threatening the suspension of federal funding for North Carolina’s schools and university system, as well as federal financial aid for North Carolina’s university students, unless the state government repudiated the law known as House Bill 2. That law ensures that government facilities and public schools protect personal privacy by maintaining sex-specific restrooms, locker rooms, and showers. The DOJ then filed suit against the state on Monday, the same day that the governor and the General Assembly each sued the agency over its illegitimate demands.”

“The administration shouldn’t condition the ability of women to receive an education on their willingness to shower with members of the opposite sex,” said ADF Senior Counsel Jeremy Tedesco. “On behalf of North Carolina students and families – and by extension all students and families across the nation affected by the DOJ’s and DOE’s overreach – we have filed suit to stop both agencies from bullying schools and universities. The agencies must stop using falsehoods about what federal law requires to threaten student access to educational opportunities and financial assistance.”

At issue is about $1.4 billion in federal funding for North Carolina’s universities, approximately $800 million in federal financial aid to North Carolina’s students, and federal funding provided to all elementary, middle, and high schools throughout the state.

The ADF points out the agencies have no authority to make such threats.

That’s because the 1972 federal law that controls “specifically states that a school receiving federal funds can ‘provide separate toilet, locker room, and shower facilities on the basis of sex’ without putting that funding at risk.”
The problem is that the federal agencies are simply redefining the law – without authority to do that.

“No government agency can unilaterally redefine the meaning of a federal law to serve its own political ends,” explained ADF Legal Counsel Kellie Fiedorek. “The departments of justice and education are exceeding what they are legally allowed to do. It’s ironic that laws from the 1960s and 70s that were enacted to combat sexual harassment and discrimination by men against women are now being used against women, specifically by letting men use women’s showers and locker rooms against their will.”
The case seeks a federal court injunction against the Obama administration’s transgender sexual agenda.

The special Whistleblower edition “Trans-Mania” exposes the left’s “latest – and strangest – war on reality and normality.”

    Bathrooms on the brain
The Obama administration’s move to open bathrooms and ignore biology even drew a satirical video from the the Family Research Council in which a narrator pointed out: “So … while ISIS is infiltrating America … President Obama seems confused about human biology. While Russia taunts our military … President Obama is fighting for men to access to women’s locker rooms. While Iran and North Korea fire ballistic missiles … President Obama is demanding grown men have the right to use women’s bathrooms.

“Who knows what’s next? President Obama could issue an executive order wiping out single gendered bathrooms in national parks … or in federal buildings … or tell the TSA to stop requiring those who fly to declare their biological sex. It’s absurd.”

    The video: see at link
