AMEN! We were in Santa Monica last week and I had to get out of the car and go after one of the a-hole residents there. Talk about a rude piece of garbage. Anyway, I'll bet he thinks twice about shooting the finger at someone again. Especially someone as big as i am from Texas.
Yes, a-hole #1 blared his horn at me for about 45 seconds straight for not turning at a "no turn on red" light. Then when the light finally turned green and I was able to go, he blasted past me shouting obscenities at me with my two kids ages 7 and 9 in the car.

    A-hole #2:
Less then an hour later I had to go to our bank to put my signature on something. The paper to be signed was waiting with the receptionist. I got in line and when my turn came up a mexican from behind me (he had been in the waiting area) walked up, grabbed the sign in clip board and threw it at the receptionist. He then called her a "dumbass" because she didn't know he had been there waiting and slunk out. Again in front of me and my two kids.

At this point I had a blinding headache (that lasted thru most of the next day) and all I wanted to do was go home and never leave again. I kept wondering if Friday was a full moon - but no, just a couple of random a-holes. Jimmy Buffet's "The Assh0le Song" kept going thru my head.

    I hate it here.
Sic, I feel your pain and agree with your observation. I lived in Chula Vista for a short time and felt like I lived on another planet. I've finally decided to throw political correctness in the toilet where it belongs and call it like it is. Now, when someone is rude or in my face they do so at their own peril. People need to re-learn the meaning of respect and how to be courteous to their fellow man. Sometimes ya just gotta take the bull by the horns!
Amen to THAT! Since I turned 40, I have no fear of "getting my feelings hurt" or offending anyone else or even of retaliation if they are rude to me.

I used to be amazed at these old people who felt like they could say whatever they want to whomever they want and wonder how and why they got that way. Now I know cause I'm one of them!

Another thing is my temper - when I got into my mid thirties I just started going off on people who were rude to me. I was having a really bad day and it started with one incident that involved a rich b!tch in a Lexus in Del Mar. She smarted off at me with an uncalled for comment and I about went beserk on her. I think I really scared the woman because she drove away and I heard her say "oh my goodness". This was in front of my Dad and two kids. My dad was shocked and told me I could have handled that a little better. I told him she had it coming. An old friend of mine told me I probably did the woman a favor - someone not as nice as me might have blown her head off instead. Maybe now she will think twice before making uncalled for comments at total strangers.

That felt good, but it seems like it snowballed and got easier to go off on people after that. Thats the scary part!

However, no more being a door mat - not for anyone ever again.

On the lighter side, about those california checkpoints -- you've probably heard this one:

The officials stopped one vehicle, that had obviously seen better days, and asked the driver if he was a citizen. Yes, he was. But the official was still suspicious, so he asked what sort of work the man did.

The driver replied that he was a pilot, and at that point the official smiled and said welcome to california, waved him on through.

An hour later, another equally shabbly looking old truck pulls up to the checkpoint. Yes, this guy was a citizen too. As for line of work, he replied that he was a chop-it. The official goes hmm, a chop-it, what's that? The guy says You know, I takes wood and I chop it up.

The official is shaking his head. Hmmm, think you better turn round and go back home, we got enough manual laborers in california.

'But hey, you just let my brother thru an hour ago!'

'Yeah, but he's a skilled professional, a pilot.'

'Raaaight, but haw's he gonna PILE IT if ah don't CHOP IT!!???'

Out of Meg Whitman's mouth, she said (I think) in an interview that she had some ideas about the border - not about illegal aliens.

Did hear she is pro-illegal alien.

Haven't heard her speak out against illegal aliens.

Though, cracking down on sanctuary cities is a major plus, which can cut their budget big time if she ends welfare for illegal aliens.
