Well, I hope we're getting smarter. When the government policy is crap and you need to pass bad law it has to be passed for some other reason. That might be sending the opposition running with name calling: racists, right wingers, nut jobs. Passing bills because someone died and needs a legacy. Or it's a crisis. We're all going to die. There won't be money anymore. We can't just do nothing. Only government can solve the problem. The worls is watching what we do. What did I miss?

    Transcend race!

Every thing the man is about is about race. Look at
his church, and Rev.Wright, it is all about Black power and Black allegiance
His support for amnesty, It is all about Hispanic power, and being anti white.
His wife said that she has never been proud of her country,
    The Cambridge police affair,
calling his Grand Mother a "typical white woman"

He calls him self a Christian, but removes any images of Christ that appears on a stage with him while speaking at a Christian college, and says while over sees that America isn't a Christian nation.

It is a Christian nation, but he dosn't want to admit it or promote it.
Just like we have always been a majority White nation, but he dosn't want to admit it or promote that either.

With race and religion he diminishes the majority to push up the minority.

To put it bluntly this is a man who is not comfortable with what this country is.

I can't believe any one fell for this make believe "transcendes race" garbage. His anger and contempt for the majority of America is obvious.

Americans look foolish for electing him, in my opinion.

I truely believe that people are tribal, it is part of human nature that will never change. Blacks, Jews, Muslims, Mexicans, etc. will always support the interests of their group first. The melting pot second.

Obama is mixed, Equally Black and White. Which side does he identify with? Look at who he married, and her feelings about this countryand what kind of church he joins. Also consider which group he wanted to organize in South Chicago. It wasn't the Poles and Italians and it wasn't the 10th genoration Americans out in Joliet and the Quad Cities.

With these people the idea of an American nationality, being American first or only is not quite understood. For Obama and many minorities and immigrants you are a sub group first and American only when you need something.

GreginLA, People do almost always revert to a mentallity of "tribalism" so to speak. However, we do have to keep working to get beyond it. I know many of us have done well in this, and there is always room for improvement, but we need to keep encouraging others to think of their "tribe" as all Americans first.

I know, I have seen here where I live, that mentallity. The kids could be born here, but their parents teach them that they are "Latino" and that they are "Mexicans", but not once do they teach them or encourage them ot think beyond that and have loyalty for the nation that is giving them everything their parents third world nation would not, and could not. It angers me to no end.

AE, yes you are correct that we must always remember and put pressure on our selves to believe that all races and ethnic groups can become American.
I know the melting pot was real for all of our history, but it is also true that for quite a few years many new immigrants and American blacks reject an American identity and loyalty.
We all believe that this attitude can be remedied over time if the melting pot was encouraged and allowed to work.
That being said For new Immigrants to truely become American they will have to lose their loyalties to their old countries and become really American only.

I did it and so should other.

My point about tribal mentality and tribal loyalty being part of human nature. I believe is true. The goal of our government and elite is for world government and a borderless continent. a borderless continant mixed with a tribal human nature is incompatible and will only fail.
The elite keeps trying, but human nature will win.

One only need look around the world to countries that for CENTURIES have been unable to transcend cultural and ethnic differences. They were unable to get the melting pot hot enough to blend the ethnic groups into a common people who became simply "citizens" of that country rather than representatives of the culture from which they descended. So, what does this say about a country like the U.S. that deifies diversity by importing millions from other countries whose culture is so diametrically opposite? We elected a "'black" leader to do what? Transcend race? Are you kidding me?! How about this...we elect a leader that looks out for the interests of our country among nations and the economic welfare of our citizens?! If history teaches us anything, it's that diversity and harmony don't always go hand in hand. A social "melting pot" isn't always a good thing. Almost always, the only ones who benefit from the melting pot are the politicians like Obama, who use "cultural diversity" as a diversion to promote their own agenda of power and wealth. Class and ethnic warfare have always been the weapon of choice for dictators. Obama and his socialist pals are playing this card for all it's worth!

Texas and Greg, I believe you both have some points that our government could take into great consideration, but you know, will they?

I do agree, it seems we have been pushed into participating in some utlra radical liberal social experiment. I have found something interesting out about people in this country. I live in Oregon, and Oregon was settled by numerous groups of settlers, from numerous ethnic backgrounds.

My own family, mainly Acadian/Canadian French, some German and Scotch. I as doing family research for both my mother and fathers families, both having grown up in broken families, with no ties to their backgrounds (out here in the Northwest, there is not a population of Acadian/French Canadians). Although they had been raised without that cultural background, I found that despite that, their families cultural ways did not disappear (as many immigrants fear and thus balkanize themselves), it actually has become so maistream that they simply did not recognize it (for example, the idea for chicken pot pie, was from "chicken fricot" or as it is known in modern French as "fricasee", my mother made this with biscuits on top).

Even within my state, there are so many "regions" that you find different foods, different ways to celebrate, and it is what has made this country so incredible. I have found that someone raised in the midwest thinks and maybe even speaks differently (customs and accent) than we do out here (do people in Oregon have an accent? I don't think so, but have been told by a Romanian woman that out here, we sound like cowboys, not the southern drawl, but a more "John Wayne-like" pattern).

So really, we all have some cultural differences, even within our own nation, although we readily accept it all, simply because we all see ourselves as Americans only, that is what is missing with most people, and of course especially so with illegal aliens from Latin nations.

It is not being a racist to notice this and speak out about it, it is simply being honest.
