Fact-Check: Tim Kaine Is Wrong; Trump Vowed to Deport ‘Criminal Aliens’ on ‘Day One’

While responding to a question about immigration enforcement Tuesday at the vice-presidential debate, Virginia Senator Tim Kaine said, “when Donald Trump spoke in Phoenix, he looked the audience in the eye and said ‘No, we’re building and we’re deporting everybody.’ He said, quote, ‘They will all be gone.'”

    This is absolutely false.

Indeed, during Donald Trump’s immigration policy on Wednesday August 31 in Phoenix, the Republican presidential nominee promised the audience that on “day one” the “2 million criminal aliens now inside of our country” are “gone.”
Trump said his administration will have “zero tolerance for criminal aliens.”

The portion of Trump’s immigration speech where he talks about deporting illegal aliens can be found below:

According to federal data, there are at least 2 million, 2 million, think of it, criminal aliens now inside of our country, 2 million people criminal aliens. We will begin moving them out day one. As soon as I take office. Day one. In joint operation with local, state, and federal law enforcement.

The Clinton/Kaine Campaign can't tell the truth even when they have no reason to lie. I believe from what Trump has actually said that he will start deportation of all known illegal aliens day one and begin the work to build the wall. I believe he will increase ICE funding and staff and authorize them to aggressively enforce all US immigration laws. I believe Trump will bring illegal immigration to a halt and remove over time, all illegal aliens including visa overstays who have no right or reason to be here. Will there be some strange unusual cases? Probably. Any reasonable person would expect some exceptions to occur in this massive undertaking. Will there be amnesty? Will there be pathways to citizenship? Will people adding to our costs of government using welfare and public education at taxpayers expense be allowed to remain? Trump says no they will not. 87% of illegal aliens use at least one form of welfare. You do the numbers. Will s ome of the 13% be allowed to stay? Perhaps. But maybe not.

We must deal with this problem in a systematic way, that is what Trump was talking about when he said a year ago "good management". That means priorities to stop the flow, to remove the worst, to remove the moochers, to remove the overstays, and then see who is left to deal with, which really just requires enforcing US immigration law which states clearly already that if you are in this country illegally, you are to be reported.
