Federal Reserve compromising immigration and tax policies

I am outraged, livid in fact over the following news report (excerpted from the online edition of the Atlanta Journal Constitution):

"SERVICES: Fed program to help Mexican immigrants As U.S. leaders craft policies to curb illegal immigration from Mexico, the Federal Reserve is devising programs to extend banking services to undocumented immigrants. A new remittance program aims to bring Mexican migrants who send money home into the mainstream U.S. financial system, regardless of their immigration status. Dubbed "Directo a Mexico," the remittance program enables U.S. commercial banks to make money transfers for Mexican workers through the Federal Reserve's own automated clearinghouse, which is linked to Banco de Mexico, the Mexican central bank. To use the service, a Mexican need only possess a matricula consular, an ID issued by the Mexican consulate in most major U.S. cities to those with proof of Mexican birth or citizenship, or a picture ID card issued by the United States or another foreign government. The idea is to make it cheaper and safer for Mexican workers to send funds to their relatives."

If we are ever to get a handle on securing our border, and reducing illegal immigration in this country, our government bureaucrats have got to be brought under control. I am mortified that the Federal Reserve, an agency totally insulated from the elective process, public scrutiny and oversite, is so arrogant as to "jump on board" the abuse of our immigration policies to take advantage of illegal immigrants and American taxpayers in this sort of "for profit scheme".

This sort of activity undermines our existing immigration laws, debases public respect for the rule of law, and is contrary to the stated wishes, views and values of a majority of American citizens and taxpayers.

Our government, our entire government, all governmental agencies, bureaucracies, etc.. must present a united, homogeneous front if we are ever going get control of immigration and the broader security implications entailed. Our government, and it's agencies must STOP sending confusing or contradictory messages about our immigration policies. In no uncertain terms, we must make it clearly understood that America's citizens support numerically constrained legal immigration based not only on our economy, but also on our societal and cultural infrastructure, and our ability and progress in assimilating immigrants. The Federal Reserves "greed driven" policy will only increase incentives for illegal immigration, while providing "safe cover" and "tax payer insured" services for an enormous number of lawbreakers already in our midst. Indeed, in certain cases, the Federal reserve and it's member banks would be acting as willing accomplicies for tax evasion, fraud, all the while shielding lawbreakers from the reach of law enforcement, and insuring lawbreakers transactions at taxpayers expense.

What the Federal Reserve proposes is nothing short of predatory. It's irresponsible, unethical, and unconscionable, and I urge everyone to contact their Senators and representatives and ask them to take appropriate action to reign in these shenanigans at the Federal Reserve.

I would ask that our elected representatives either initiate or lend their support for an investigation of the Federal Reserve for advancing such cynical, un-American policies. Further, I would ask that they endeavor, on behalf of America's citizens and taxpayers, to craft and implement appropriate legislation to prevent expenditure of any "tax payer" dollars, by the Federal Reserve, in furtherance of such programs, or for the insurance of such transactions.
