A Few Words On Harry Reid’s Latest Outburst…

I hope all of those “Republicans for Reid” from 2010 have seen the error of their ways.

If, as Harry Reid said Thursday, the supporters of Clark County rancher Cliven Bundy are “Domestic Terrorists”, then Reid is Joseph Goebbels, Adolf Hitler’s propaganda minister.

That, or Reid has gone completely berserk.
The people who went to Bunkerville to support Bundy, quite simply, have had enough.
They came armed because a) Nevada is an open carry state and b) they had everything to fear from under-trained, over-testosteroned wannabe cops. Consider that two of them killed a 20-year-old man who was clearly mentally disoriented in a national monument area near Las Vegas just last February. And the BLM refused to release their names so, presumably those two clowns were among the small army the Feds assembled for Bunkerville.
Let’s not kid each other.
We were one upraised middle index finger away from a Kent State shooting; only this time, the ranchers would be shooting back (and rightfully so). When people ask why you should feel the need to defend yourself from your government, this is the example people should use; and Reid (D-Ritz Carlton, Washington DC) is scared to death that this will work out exactly like the Civil Rights marches in Alabama in 1963.
Harry Reid’s knowledge of history is right on a level with his below 100 IQ.
This country was founded by 56 angry white guys who didn’t like being pushed around by a king across the ocean. They wrote the seminal document on what happens when a government becomes too abusive.
“When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.”
That’s the preamble to the Declaration of Independence. Harry, assuming he paid any attention in school, should have learned that and the laundry list of sins which the English monarch committed against our ancestors that drove them to fight a war for independence.

Here are a few:


  • “He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.


  • He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.


  • He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.


  • He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures.


  • For Quartering large bodies of armed troops among us:


  • For protecting them, by a mock Trial, from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:


  • For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:


  • For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury:”


Sound like anybody we know?
And then, they go on to say:
“In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.”
Gee, Harry. Does that sound like something you might have learned in history class? Can you spell “unfit”?
Reid would be easy to ignore, except for the credibility he seems to have with the chattering class.
He told a class of fourth graders that the sitting President of the United States of America is a “loser”. He said that we had lost the war in Iraq when we had troops in harm’s way.
And he just equated God-fearing ranchers with a legitimate beef against the Federal Government with Tim McVeigh and William Ayres.
I wonder how Bill Clinton and former Oklahoma Governor Frank Keating (who really had to deal with McVeigh as a true domestic terrorist) feel about Reid’s pronunciamento
I’d think he is entering the throes of Alzheimer’s, except that he has always been not very smart and very mean.
If Harry Reid (and his family of leaches who are busy living off of his political stroke) is the best Nevada can do, then we deserve what we elected.
I hope all of those “Republicans for Reid” from 2010 have seen the error of their ways.
