Perhaps the black community should do more to police itself so there would be less reason for local law enforcement to get involved! That policing I'm referring to would start with parent(s) properly raising and disciplining their children at home. While I don't condone excessive force by police, I do understand why they sometimes feel it necessary. State and local law enforcement agencies employ over 1 million men and women throughout the country. If a law enforcement official breaks the law, then he or she should be prosecuted, however, the entire community shouldn't be judged based on the actions of a few. I'll agree that some black deaths at the hands of law enforcement are unnecessary, but seldom is the person killed completely innocent of criminal activity.

In the United States 93 percent of blacks are murdered by blacks
    MW, two questions.

    1) what do black on black crime rates have to do with protesting police brutality?

    2) what does criminal activity have to do with protesting police brutality?

Neither one has anything to do with cops murdering black people or anyone else and getting away with it. Most black on black crime occurs in all black neighborhoods, so of course, black on black crime rates are going to be higher than white on black rates because no whites or very few whites live in black neighborhoods where these crimes occur. As to criminal activity by the victims of police brutality, we don't really know about that because there were no trials, and because of all the lying and covering up by the cops and their "thin blue line", we can't judge these victims by what the cops involved in their murder say. So that all needs to be either ignored or taken with a grain of salt.

What has happened in all these cities that have become targets of the Black Lives Matter movement with regards to cops murdering blacks is inexcusable with no justification whatsoever of any kind. These were cold-blooded murders. These weren't accidents, these weren't fear for their lives, these were murders that were covered up by cops.

This terrible murder of Laquan McDonald in Chicago is just unbelievable. Officers on the scene lied, police destroyed video-tape evidence at the Burger King, they refused to release the videos of the murder taken with their body cams. And this time, it wasn't the family who fought for release of the tape that shows the murder, this time it was the Black Lives Matter movement.

Do you really want police officers and police organizations that murder people and then cover it up to get away with it because they're cops? No, of course you don't. No one wants that. Really, I don't even believe racists want that. Even racists have a point at which even they won't support the murder of civilians by cops, regardless of the race of the victim. But what racists will do is try to justify it because they'll believe the cops instead of the evidence. Somewhere along the way their dislike or hatred of black people overcomes their normal sense of logic, reason and justice. But even then, only to a point. When the evidence it out there as it is now in the Chicago case, even the racists have nothing more to say. Sure, there's the diversion to "well, blacks kill blacks" as if when blacks kill blacks, then it's okay for cops to kill them or the other side-track of "well, they were criminals so they deserved it".

It doesn't matter whether the cops say the person they murdered was doing something wrong and it doesn't matter that blacks kill blacks in black neighborhoods. None of that has anything to do with cops murdering black people, covering it up and getting away with it. And it also doesn't matter what race the victim is. Police brutality is police brutality and it affects everyone. In North Carolina, there were 2 police murders, one was the murder of Peyton Strickland by Chris Long in Wilmington and another one was the murder of Steve Thornton in Raleigh. Both white victims. Chris Long was set free by a grand jury with a cop's wife on the jury. SBI in Raleigh sealed the case of the murder of Steve Thornton and there has been no release of the investigation to the public. Peyton Strickland was suspected of stealing PlayStations although no stolen goods were found on the warrant. Steve Thornton, a cancer survivor, was suspected of growing medical marijuana which he would sell to cancer patients to help them survive.

Police brutality is wrong, wherever it occurs, no matter who the victims are. North Carolinians should have organized protests on both of these murders in our state. But Steve Thornton didn't matter, he was dismissed as a drug dealer, it didn't matter that he was doing this to help cancer patients survive, and Peyton Strickland didn't matter, he was dismissed as a thief even though no stolen items were found in his home and someone else confessed to the theft.

In my opinion, standing up for bad cops in any way, shape or form, is not a feather in the cap, it's a national disgrace, because there is no greater threat to our life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness than a corrupt law enforcement agency that believes it's above the law. That's part of the problem with illegal immigration, too many rotten cops on the take with the illegal aliens and their foreign drug cartels.

So answer your question when are blacks going to protest black on black crime? Probably right behind whites who decide tp protest white on white crime. Why would it be any different?

    Just my opinion.
