Thread: Fred Thompson for President ???

So far Fred Thompson has not said anything about the border that I have not liked--he went after the Mexican government lately. Maybe I haven't been looking in the right places so any additional info on him would be appreciated.

I found a 'draft Fred Thompson For President website' and emailed them about illegal immigration and what a candidate would have to say on the issue before I could donate/endorse him: sealing the border, attrition through enforcement and the encouragement of self-deportation, immeditate deportation of all criminal illegals, stiff fines, and/or jail time for employers, etc...

I thought maybe more of us should weigh in to Mr. Thompson on our positions.

And criticizing the U.S. for alternately doing too much and too little to stop your illegal activities is not going to set too well with Americans of good will who are trying to figure a way out of the mess that your and our open borders policy has already created.

I like the fact that he openly refers to "our open borders policy" as having created the situation. That sounds like a shot off the bow directed at the President.
