Since I'm just kind of rambling tonight , don't pay any attention to me

I have to say , I just don't know what happened to music in the last 30 years

There was a band , The Robin Trower band , Robin is a pretty fair guitarist but his bass player James Dewar was the bomb , James did all the vocals on all the classic Trower hits of the 70s , I knew James through Davey Patteson , who was a singer for Ronnie Montross in "Gamma" (A long story for another time)
At any rate , James had a minor surgery , it went band and he had several major strokes , He died a few years ago , Davey was with him when he died and I got the story first hand.
Anyway a tribute to one of the most amazing vocalists of all time

Robin Trower band , James Dewar on vocals and bass

A huge amount of hits with Jimmy on vocals , Hannah , day of the eagle , To rolling stoned , Bridge of sighs

This is from Jimmys one solo LP recording
"Stumbledown Romancer" , What a friggin voice

Don't get me going on the Doobies , Even with their success with Michael McDonald they are still the most under rated American band in history

This is full blown rock and roll , And this cut is when they are old

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bs1CM7uUvMY&feature=fvst

This is the classic lineup with Patrick Simmons and Tom Johnston
They could blow the roof off arenas , There is so much talent here its amazing

A pretty rare cut , Just to show the talent with this band
If you don't watch anything else I"ve posted , watch this

This song I find is the most amazing twisted and wonderful things a band can do

The Doobies , a hard rock band with a country bend at times , a jazz flavor and many other influences

To go to this sort of sound is amazing for this type of band

I'll leave you with one more and then I'm done
    My favorite Patrick Simmons song

I wish I had the words to express the talent of some of these 70s bands , These people were just ........... beyond belief ,

I think part of the problem with kids today is they didn't have what we had.

The history of the Doobies is long and complicated , I know it all if anyone has any questions , I even go a bit beyond the wiki article on them being good friends with someone who knows them , has done studio work with many past and present band members and through many hours of study.

Probably the most true "American" rock band and of all time
