posting the numbers one more time for the record
The "10 to 12 million" figure is, verifiably, overly optimistic.
1. The figure was floated by a government with a vested interest in not publicizing evidence of its own negligence in enforcing the law.
2. The figure appeared three years ago, and it assumes no persons have entered the country illegally since then without an equal number leaving. Hogwash.
3. DHS knew the figure was low before they published it in 2004. And here are the facts that the government knew then but doesn't want you to know now, or later.
Between June and September, 2004, as part of the Arizona Border Control Initiative (ABC), the DHS Customs and Border Protection Bureau flew unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV's, reconnaissance drones) along the Arizona-Mexican border near Nogales, AZ. In just three months, in just part of one state, three Hermes 450 drones spotted 853,000 illegal travellers crossing the border at other than Border Patrol checkpoints, according to Paul Olski, director of aviation joint planning and development in the Department of Homeland Security. DHS attributed only 1252 apprehensions to the Hermes and the Hunter UAVs. On Jan. 31, 2005, the program was "grounded for evaluation," probably in embarassment about what it proved... that we have little enforcement of our immigration laws, and that the border is OUT OF CONTROL.

That is a fact.
I estimate that the 2004 total for the Tucson Sector is about four times that number. The fall season is a much easier traversal, encouraging a larger number than the summer. From Christmas to Easter is a time when Latino Catholics would prefer to be at home, discouraging travel. Spring is the peak time for illegal entry, because non-agricultural work is most plentiful for the next several months. So I estimate 2.8 million illegal aliens entered and escaped through the Tucson Sector in 2004. To say that the other eight sectors combined allowed only 2.8 million illegal entrants is not even reasonable, but in the absence of similar hard numbers for those sectors, let's call it that.
To sum up, I estimate that roughly 5.6 million illegal aliens came into the U.S. during 2004. Some stayed; some went home for Christmas. But the number increased dramatically in 2005, perhaps by 25%. In April, 2006, sightings in Texas were up 60% over October, 2005, probably in expectation of some form of amnesty. So I estimate about 11.2 million illegal aliens will enter the U.S. across the Mexican border during 2006, double the 2004 number.
That certainly exposes as "disinformazion" the often-heard "11 million illegal aliens in the U.S.," which the mainstream media would like you to believe. Given the above calculations, it may be three times that, which would be supported both by the impact on the labor market and by the recent demonstrations (followed by riots in Los Angeles on the night of May 1st).
Bear Stearns investment group estimated 20 million illegal aliens at the beginning of 2006. In their book, Minutemen: The Battle to Secure America's Borders, Jim Gilchrist, founder of the Minuteman Project, and Jerome Corsi estimated 30 million in mid-2006. Given the hard numbers above, I estimate about 31.2 million illegal aliens were in the U.S. at the end of 2006 and at least 33 million illegal aliens in country on May 24, 2007.One man's terrorist is another man's undocumented worker.
Unless we enforce laws against illegal aliens today,
tomorrow WE may wake up as illegals.
The last word: illegal aliens are ILLEGAL!

We all know the truth on these boards that the number is a lot higher. But unfortunately most of the country believes the lies that the media and the politicians keep feeding them. I want to scream out to these people the truth! Their government is lying to them!
Americans Want Congress to Act on Border Security. Will They?
