On Cavuto right now Huckabee stated: "...Jim Gilchrist the founder and director of the Minuteman project endorsed me..."
This was in reference to a question about Romneys add against Huckabees immigration background.
So it is evident that the spin is to push Gilchrist as the founder and representative of the minuteman project!

Yes I hope it does backfire. I think there is some sort of disconnect with this generation of politicians as it relates to the internet. They have become used to viewing traditional television stations and newspapers as the only place where issues are discussed. Huckabees pre made answers to Cavutos set ups flowed so obviously it was like watching a late night infomercial.
As a former republican, now independent, it scares me to see my former party members ebb and flow with the RNC's "try em all out and see" frontrunner marketing plan. Huckabee, Giuliani, Romney and McCain are all corporate players, so the RNC likes them. They don't want Tancredo, Hunter or Paul because they don't play ball with the transnationals. If you think about it, really how the hell did Huckabee become the "frontrunner"? What happened to make him the frontrunner? Nothing at all except RNC marketing and Fox News.
In the end I hope this Gilchrist thing leaves hot egg all over Hucksters campaign. Just as a side note, it is dumb for the RNC to think that he would have a chance against Clinton, her campaign would eat him alive, more so than the other candidates.

The RNC doesn't even have the money to keep the lights on, let alone "market" candidates, thank goodness.
Suckabee is a media invention. Yoke the media tongue bath to his appeals to the 20-30% of the population that's comprised of Bush Bots, add in the evangelicals-who have collectively lost their mind if they think Huckleberry is what real Christianity means, and you have a quickie "frontrunner."
Hopefully this insanity will peter out once people realize he's an empty suit. I doubt he'll be a threat when I vote in the Republican primary in NY this Feb.
Consider Suckabee the Howard Dean of the current Republican presidential race.Reporting without fear or favor-American Rattlesnake
