Give I.C.E. agents a thank you.
call the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Helpline at
1-866-341-3858 in Reno Nevada.
You will hear a recording that lasts about a minute. After that, you will be conected to a person. Tell him/her what a great job they are doing by enforcing our laws.

LawEnforcer - wow! you're a mind reader - I was thinking about this very topic today earlier too.
And, maybe they deserve a big THANKS also for standing up to the State of Illinois - regarding enforcement/sanctuary/etc. I'm still pinching myself upon learning about that and I think they need (and deserve) some gentle but firm reinforcement to continue moving forward.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Re: Give I.C.E. agents a thank you.
Did that already. Tomorrow will be a very nice day because they will be hiding or going home.

Looks like Luther Mack who own many of the resturants may have charges files against him.
I was wondering when they would get Big Mac.

What has ICE done in Illinois? Did I miss something? If I dare go to a McD or BK in Berwyn, Cicero or Lyons, IL they are chocked full of illegal mexicans? No change? Not to mention EVERY lawn care business and construction site.
Please enlighten me. I need some good news about law enforcement in IL if there is any? THX"There's no such thing as ILLEGALalien-able rights!" REGRESO E MEXICO !

Nomoremex: There's been a public interchange between Gov Blag... (State of IL) and DHS. Basically, the Gov. proclaimed his state to be a de facto sanctuary ("we aren't going to cooperate in identifying and apprehending illegal aliens" - well, something close to that). and DHS responded by filing a lawsuit against IL (! - the exact grounds of which escape me, but hey, it's still progress).

I'm taking a wait and see attitude on enforcement. I still think the current bits of enforcement we're seeing are designed by the Bush administration to rally corporate America, pro-illegal immigrant advocates, pro-illegal politicians, and the illegals themselves to stand up against enforcement and demand comprehensive immigration reform (amnesty). Witnessing such an abrupt about-face on enforcement makes me more than a little skeptical. I think the Bush administrations motivations are disingenuous. You will hear a recording that lasts about a minute. After that, you will be conected to a person. Chertoff has pretty much come right out and said the country would regret the actual enforcement of our immigration laws. I'm sorry, we've been burned to frequently to let our guard down now.

I heard about this but treated it as just more political rhetoric with no real end game. Besides, in IL, everyone knows that Blago does whatever Blago wants, right? There's been a public interchange between Gov Blag... (State of IL) and DHS.
Other than the rhetoric though, ICE hasn't done much in the chicago area to reduce the vast number of illegal mexicans, that I know of? I think they would if they could, but they can't, so they won't (as the saying goes).
I'll be utterly shocked if Illinois caves in to the rule of American law anytime soon? This suit could last in court until blago finally leaves office at which point Illinois WILL BE a new state of mexico. We'll see?"There's no such thing as ILLEGALalien-able rights!" REGRESO E MEXICO !

Nomoremex, MW:
Yes, I agree on the overall cynicism about ICE enforcement overall. Certainly, they CAN do a lot more, and how, when, where they focus their efforts are largely controlled by managers higher-up the administrative chain.
At the same time, it's important to keep the rank-and-file people actually doing the real work motivated and supported. I guess there is a certain degree of 'built-in' contradiction in this, but I call mainly to get the message through to the real working folks - I don't care about the higher level management (they've already sold themselves and proved their true spinelessness). ... all the above IMHO, of course.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

I can certainly agree with that. I've always thought highly of the "rank-and-file" and appreciate their service. I'm sure the majority of them want to do the job to the best of their ability, however, you're correct in your assessment regarding their leadership. It is that leadership that issues the orders that come down from the Bush administration. Unfortunately, the exact same thing is happening with the border patrol. Sure, there are a few bad apples in both organizations, however, for the most part, it is the Bush administration and finances that prevent them from enjoying the successes we expect.it's important to keep the rank-and-file people actually doing the real work motivated and supported."The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing" ** Edmund Burke**

I was just responding to Illinois' role in this debacle. I have called the local chicago ICE office and they told me that their assignments are handed down from D.C. so they can't act without specific instructions. Again, they would if they could, but they can't, so they won't."There's no such thing as ILLEGALalien-able rights!" REGRESO E MEXICO !
