Thread: United way and UFCW union in the wake of Swift Raids

Please do not forget to talk about the outrageous stance taken by the United Food and Commercial Workers union (UFCW) who have stated that ICE, in their long overdue effort to enforce our laws, was 'terrorizing immigrant workers'. This is a union that has sat back as Americans have lost their jobs to low wage illegals. In the last 25 years, meat packer wages have dropped from 19 dollars an hour plus benefits, to 8 dollars an hour with no benefits. This is the same union that is attempting to get an injunction against the ICE to stop any future enforcement. Great union huh?



Then too, there is the United Way that has established a 'trust fund' for the illegals and their families. Nice going! An American charity that has banned the Boy Scouts but now takes care of law breakers who not only break our immigration laws, but who also steal American citizen's identities and/or forge social security cards (both felonies).

Dave, I have seen up here in Portland Oregon, that the United Way only helps agencies, or will promote agencies that seem to please the PC crowd, and the ACLU.

What they are still not inderstanding, is that although Americans may differ in political parties, they stand united in many ways morally, especially in this fight against this illegal immigration invasion.

The unions, as far as I have seen, have been useless to employees everywhere for ages. We are better off without unions now, and have more leverage with employers without them. However, that leverage is being taken away from American workers, with the influx of cheap labor.

Whatever it is we can do to ban together, I am 100% there. We're tired of being broke, tired from our efforts just to survive, and ready to win this battle.

I just went to my HR department and stopped my scheduled United Way payroll contributions for 2007. The HR individual looked at me like I was crazy and asked if I minded telling her why I wanted to cancel. She then seemed rather uncomfortable when I told her that after having given for most of my working life I could no longer support such an agency. She is hispanic and her sister and family participated in the marches they had a few months ago.

Well accomplishing that made my day. I will continue to give to charity when, how and to whom I see fit but will no longer give money to United Way. The look on the HR person's face was........whats' the word?.....um....oh yeah.......PRICELESS!

That one wasn't in the United Way selling points pamphlet I suppose. Lots of outfits are going to have to come up with fresh material. Good luck to 'm.
