GOP Whip Wants to Hear From You: Please Help

GOP House Whip Eric Cantor is holding a hearing next week and is soliciting comments about the stimulus plan. He believes stimulus means the "protection, preservation and creation of jobs."

Watch the brief video clip in the link below and then submit your thoughts in the "Click here to submit written thoughts" link below the image of the family.

Please submit polite, articulate comments about how during this era of massive job loss, a primary way to protect American jobs is to support E-Verify & oppose "comprehensive immigration reform" amnesty for millions of illegal foreign workers etc.

Thanks for the heads up. Here's what I wrote:

Mr. Cantor et al, The easiest, simplest, most cost-effective way to stimulate our economy and preserve ours jobs is to remove the illegal foreign workers from the country. With a shocking 40 million illegals aliens here and probably about 15 million illegally working, those jobs and housing opportunities could and should be used for American citizens and legal immigrants. Citizens and legal immigrants did those jobs for hundreds of years before, we'll do them again.

Thanks for commenting GP and ST!

In my comment, I pointed out how, to protect American workers, e-Verify must be extended and "comprehensive immigration reform" a/k/a amnesty opposed. And in addition to the illegal alien worker problem, during this time of massive job loss, does it make any sense to issue around 138,000 new work permits and green cards to foreign workers each month? (Thanks to Roy Beck for pointing this out.)

On CSpan right now (a repeat of Friday committee meeting), Senator Issakson from Georgia is questioning Rep, Hilda Solis, the Labor Secretary Nominee. He is saying that during economic downturns that incoming legal foreign labor should be less. Ms. Solis said that she would have to look at the different areas of employment and basically left the door open to more foreign labor I thought, both legal and illegal.

Senator Mikulskei wants to work with the Hispanic Caucus she stated.

Rep. Solis is now thanking Senator Hatch for supporting the "DREAM ACT" for Americans.

    Pandering galore.

Thanks for the update GP. So, not surprisingly, looks like Solis will put the needs of legal and illegal foreign workers (and cheap labor employers) over the needs of American workers, including of course African-Americans and second generation Mexican-Americans who are often overlooked in this debate. Pathetic.

We'll have to highlight publicly this hypocrisy and insensitivity every chance we get.
