Have you called your Senator Today about the Grand Sham?

Everyone Listen Up! Get on the phone. Get busy faxing. Get those e-mails out.

I would like you to report back here what your Senators are saying to you about this bill.

Call them up and ask them if they will be supporting the President's Grand Sham.

I'm hearing reports that mine will not be supporting the bill. However, I'm calling today after the lunch to confirm.

I called last night all the Senators and left a message NOT to resurrect S. 1348 and represent the will of the American citizens...not the illegal immigrants! To the GOP Senators I added...and don't let President Bush "woo" you at lunch today to breath new life in this dead bill!

I found many mail boxes full...I just hope they were full of OUR calls and not LA RAZA'S!!!!

Gordon Smith (R-OR): (Voted No on Cloture on S134

    > Doesn't support bill in current form.

    > Re: Feeling on Pres and his arm-twisting.... doesn't really have an opinion on that - at least yet. Asked to pass along that the public does not want this bill and he should soil an otherwise decent reputation by working with the Pres on the issue.

    Ron Wyden (D-OR):

    > Logged my opinion (disappointed in vote for Cloture on S134. Not any surprises here - logged systematically without explanation.

    > No opinion on Pres arm-twisting (wasn't going to be involved in meeting, the best I could tell...)

PS Oh yeah - call times into Smith's office were not bad (pretty quick), for Wyden, I was on hold to speak with someone for about 1-2 minutes.

Senator Feinstein - worthless. Can not wait to vote her out of office next election.

Senator Boxer - voted NO, but working on her to keep it that way.

Tough to get through right now.

I mentioned in my faxes the economic slowdown that will happen when everyone is demoralized over this. Why bother doing things right when you get rewarded for breaking the law?

I use some other phrases in my calls - like "I worry for the fugure of this country....." and also throw in that Bush may not be able to keep any promises he makes them since many are calling for his impeachment.
