I suspect we are already hated by Mexico, Central and South America. Except when we hand out those gringo $$$$.

Who will fix Mexico if not Mexicans?

They did it in 1810.... threw out the Spanish oppressors. Father Hidalgo started the ball rolling, then the Church defrocked him and executed him (Church for the little guy?)

They did it in 1910... threw out the corrupt Mexicans (remember Pancho Villa and Emiliano Zapata? where are they now?)

The year 2010 ... is around the corner.... time again to throw out the bad home-grown corrupt elites...

Exactly! All that marching in our streets with their flags raised high needs to be done down there.

Americans are doing PLENTY to help Mexico and other nations in Latin America. I have a friend, a carpenter, who volunteered for a total of four years on various projects in Mexico. There are many people like him including professionals like doctors and nurses. Please do web searches using these terms: Mexico missions, short term missions, Latin American missions. You will see how extensive this trend has become a part of American life.

The money that immigrant workers send back to their families can go very far at home. I just ran across an article in the Hispanic News about how many young people in Guatemala don't even seek jobs--they live off the old man's remittances!! They play video games and stay out of school. This is turning into an economic development problem in those countries.

Moreover, if an illegal family were to be deported and had already purchased a home here, they might very well take home a rather sizeable nest egg of American dollars due to appreciation in the value of their home. A $100,000 appreciation would be a fortune in Central America. There was a recent deportation of a union organizer who owned a home in America. I don't think he will be hurting at all.

These people are picking up skills and a knowledge of modern society that they could put to good use in their home countries. Combined with private development assistance and US foreign aid plus their penchant for self-organization I think most of them will be fine. Plenty of Americans experience tragedies, too.

Glad you shared this all with everyone Ron, people need to knowthat there is already a great deal of work being done by Americans for those in the Latin American countries.

What more can these people want from us? The silver platter? Seems that way.

In my own opinion, compassion aside form those who may be truly suffering, I don't think we owe ANYTHING to Mexico or any other country down there. If they have problems, then those problems are of their own making, and they need to solve them on their own. Anything we do for them should be out of simply necessity, nothing more.

Remember that saying "necessity is the mother of invention", this is the attitude that has made America great.

What else can America do, in her own best self-interest, to head off a Marxist revolution in Mexico, which would create an anti-American, communist power along 2060 miles of our borders?
One man's terrorist is another man's undocumented worker.

Unless we enforce laws against illegal aliens today,
tomorrow WE may wake up as illegals.

The last word: illegal aliens are ILLEGAL!

Mexico has never been on our side in any of the world wars, they were more for Germany than us. Mexican bandits have always raid along our border, we owe them nothing except the return of their citizens that entered our country illegally.

Now the mexican government wants to tell us how to run our country that we have to have gun control, that we have to give the illegal aliens amnesty and free medical care. Mexico is becoming our enemy, the enemy right on our border, they are assisting in the invasion of our country and dare us to stop it. If any other country did this it would be an act of war. The worst part is that our own government is allowing it to happen and calling us racists and bigots for trying to protect our country from this illegal invading army.

It is time to take our country back and vote out these treators in congress and the white house.
Some people are alive only because there are laws against killing them.
