Hispanics do get their own to vote for them. I was once told by an university instructor I had that to run for judge in Miami, you had to be Hispanic or you are wasting your time. There are a lot of Hispanics with political powers at the city and county level in Miami Dade County.
They have been less successful at the governor level as the rest of Florida is not as prodominately Hispanic. We have one senator that is Hispanic but he is against illegals as are most Cubans are.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Well, we should have impeached Clinton before he signed on to NAFTA and GATT, and we probably should have removed George H.W. Bush as soon as he started chirping about the New World Order. We should have impeached LBJ as well, and we probably should have tried FDR for treason. Shoulda, woulda, coulda. The fact is that agreements are signed and the laws are in place. Removing a single politico won't accomplish anything. What is required is MUCH larger than that.

OK, Crockett, I'm ready - but if we wait until the President and our Gov. puts all those new 'clean'burning' power plants in Texas, we might as well give it to the Mexicans.

That didn't make a lot of sense, did it?I guess I'm missing the connection...
Really, I guess I am saying it doesn't matter what we do in Texas, either the illegals or the coal-burning plants are going to get us.
I don't know which bothers me the most - I might be able to live with illegals - but not sure if we can when they add those plants - and beginning digging up the state for the coal to feed them.

Actually, I used to be part owner of a fuel additive company that provided solutions for petroleum fired plants that were out of compliance (among other things). One of the things that I learned that really surprised me is how cleanly these new coal-fired plants burn. The complaining about these plants is just media-induced hysteria. I recommend that you do some research into relative emissions of the various power generation plants. Of course natural gas is cleanest, but coal is cheap and a good choice for adding power near peak load.

I lived about 15 years or more within 4 miles of this particular plant. While it may be cleaner burning than maybe some other fuel - it is definitely not 'clean burning'. I would question the 'cleaner' -EPA Toxic Release Inventory data ranks TXU’s Monticello plant in East Texas as the worst in the nation now.
It isn't media induced hysteria with me - it is first hand knowledge.
Andyt, as for taking the pollution - that's a pretty tough choice there isn't it?
Having lived with the pollution and the illegals - I may have a different view, but, I don't want more of either.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Nntrixie: It is a hard call. I have lived near the pollution from steel mills up north and currently live in Miami with lots of illegals around. You can move further away from the pollution but escaping illegals maybe harder. It seems that they are almost everywhere. Hard call.

Do you have a link for that ranking?
