Thread: Jeff Sessions soft peddles on killer of Kate Steinle

Why is Jeff Sessions not also charging this murderer under 8 U.S. Code § 1326 - Reentry of removed aliens which carries a ten year prison sentence for the offense. And considering he has repeated offenses, this murderer, if charged correctly, could possibly be put in prison for the rest of his life!

Why is Jeff Sessions not throwing the book at this murderer and sending a message to the rest of these thugs?

I'm no lawyer and don't pretend to know all the ins and outs of the judicial system. However, I do have confidence in Jeff Sessions and feel certain he knows exactly what he is doing. I doubt anyone, other than Kate's family of course, is more upset about the Kate Steinle case results than he is. The reentry charge may require a different avenue of prosecution, meaning it must go through immigration court and won't happen until after the other federal crimes carrying a combined 20 year potential sentence are disposed of.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves by throwing out assumptions unless we're fully versed on judicial law. I for one am glad to see Jeff Sessions taking a very personal interest in this and trust him to follow the law and do the right thing.
