Is Karl Rove right?
I just got some time over the holidays to read Pat Buchanan's
book "State Of Emergency". One quote really jumped out at me:
"From 2000 to 2005, 7.9 million immigrants arrived, legal & illegal,
with Mexicans forming the largest contingent. This set an all-time
record. If Republicans believe these millions of largely uneducated,
unskilled, and poor people are going to rally to a party that advocates
slashing the size of the government, the party is in need of a brain
transplant."
If your allegiance is to the GOP, you would agree with all the
decisions our president & GOP leadership has made. As a former
'birth-to-cradle' dem, I'm sad there is no real alternative for me
now. I apologize to all the people who made me try & see the
error of my ways 20 years ago. Too bad when I woke up, GWB
was in the WH. However, I will vote repub until there is an
alternative.

I'm taking my part of this too. The trouble is by the time a bunch of crossed over to help out, the Republicans decided to punish some of their candidates.

Dem4labor, I too am someone who has voted mostly as a Dem but I'm actually a registered Independent. Now, I will vote only for a candidate who puts the interests of the American people before their party and most certainly before any special interest, such as major corporations. They must also be willing to speak out honestly about what is right for this country, even if this makes them unpopular. The only politicians who meet this bill right now are a small handful of Republicans. Oh, and being a member of the "shadow government", the Council on Foreign Relations or the Trilateral Commission, is a fatal flaw.

As soon as the hollidays are over, I am going to take myself down to the courthouse and change my voter registration to Independent!

go re-register as a republican so you could vote for tancredo in the republican primary, that is if he runs...I personaly think tancredo will be too chicken to run and lose his safe heavy republican-leaning, house seat.
Obama and Hillary will be the democratic nominee and they both voted for s2611...Obama is a star and he voted against the movement......A thousand people came to see Obama speak in NH...I guess illegal immigration is a very small issue in the democratic party.
McCain will be very tought to beat and if he can lock up bush's donors, i dont think anyone would be able to beat him in a GOP primary...Money talks.

Hell or highwater, I still say we need to get behind Rep. Duncan Hunter unless something better comes along. I like Tancredo, but I don't think he has a shot at sitting in the oval office as President of the United States. Just my opinion.

McCain or Guillani are probably the most electable but I don't think either is a true conservative. On the bright side We couldn't do worse than Bush! Or could we??
