Back in May a thread was posted here in which Lindsey, speaking before La Raza, said, "We're gonna tell the BIGOTS to SHUT UP." Link. That quote was actually the end of a rant. Here, courtesy of Slate is the entire rant:

We are going to solve this problem, we're not going to run people down, w'ere [sic] not gonna scapegoat people, we're gonna tell the bigots to shut up, and we're gonna get it right.

Quite frankly, since Lindsey is, unfortunately, my Senator, that really pissed me off.

I sent him a very assertive but polite email ripping him a new one for his comments.

Today, more than a month later, I received his reply via snail mail.

I'll not bore you with all of it. Usual political bla-bla-bla. However, I do think you'll be interested in his comments about his bigots remark:

During my speech to members of the La Raza group, I called upon Americans to come together and reject the intolerance of the loud minority. In no way do I consider those who simply disagree with me on this issue of immigration bigots. I have close friends who do not share my views, as well as respected colleagues in the Senate. By no means do I consider opposing views bigotry. However, make no mistake that the issue of immigration has been exploited by groups such as the Ku Klux Klan and the National Socialist Movement, or the Nazi party, to attract new membership and further their larger agendas. Their well-publicized marches and rallies capitalize on the emotionalism of the issue and essentially sensationalize immigration, making it a platform to spread messages of hatred and intolerance spanning far beyond the issue of immigration. It is to groups such as these and individuals with these hateful ideologies that I directed my comments - not the Americans who simply think differently than me.

Wow, nice spin Lindsey. Lots and lots of big, multisyllabic words. I'm impressed. Not.

If any of you have heard anything about the KKK or the Nazis doing as Lindsey claims, could you please post a link? Thanks. I scoured all over the Internet and can't find a thing. I guess Lindsey's motto is, "When I've said something I shouldn't have and I'm up against the wall trying to explain why I said it, I'll just blame it on the Nazis and the KKK. Yeah, yeah, that'll work."

Uh-huh.

To my fellow South Carolinians, now, more than ever, Lindsey must go.

I just thought you folks in South Carolina might like to see what your senator thinks of you.

Since Lindsey wants to clarify his "bigots" remark, I'd like to pose a question:

Can somebody please point out to me how it's ok for a group to call itself "THE RACE" (which is what La Raza means) and not be "bigots" themselves?

First, we were "vigilantes". I liked that.

Now, we are "Nazis and KKK". Considering the source, I like that even better.

I'd really like to know what the Bush Administration has on Graham. It must be something worth a life sentence in a federal pen.

I think Boosh promised that Graham will be the new cook in the North American White House. Oh wait, that's one of those jobs we won't do anymore. Maybe he's the janitor. Crap, that is also another one of those jobs. The groundskeeper? Nope, they can't afford to pay him a good wage either for that. Boosh must have promised him something grand in the new NAU. Maybe he'll replace the human skull as DHS head.

It's been reported that Bush is the one that made the statement.

I think sippy is being quite respectful by only referring to President POS as a scumbag.

I can't say that I'm that charitable.

Minuteman, for me, respect, trust, and loyalty are things that are is earned, they are never given away. So far, Jorge hasn't done much to earn that are earned and anyone who blindly gives these things away are fools. I can't speak for all Americans, but that is where I stand. I respect the office of president, but I have 0 respect for man in it.
I was taught to judge people by their actions and not by their words. GWB makes all these promises to window dress and fool the American people (just like many other past presidents) and does the exact opposite. And his actions? so far none of his actions have been for America. His actions have done nothing but to further Jorge BOOSH senior new world order and the evil agenda of the CFR.
His presidency stands for NOTHING American and he will do nothing to protect America and its citizens, least of all uphold his Constitutional oath.
In my opinion, anyone who can't uphold their oath of office and do what is best for Americans, doesn't deserve respect; whether it be congressman, senators, or the president. Last but not least, anyone who claims the Constitution is just a blankety blank piece of paper, deserves no respect at all. By stating this he's mocking EVERY person that has died for this country, and I find that completely disgusting.
If you are a member of the Minuteman group, which I do respect 100%, you should know this better than anyone.
You are entitled to your opinion, and I do respect that.
