The crowd booed US Senator Lindsey Graham and drowned out his remarks as he rallied for Donald Trump in downtown Pickens, South Carolina.

Graham, from nearby Oconee County, said he was going to help Trump win the 2024 general election and even pointed out that he was part of the Senate Judiciary Committee that helped bolster the Supreme Court’s conservative sheen.

Despite that, the crowd remained unmoved and the booing continued for at least three minutes.

Easley resident Michael Propes, 60, said Graham was trying to side with Trump to give his own political career a new lease of life.
“I voted for him years ago, I voted for him last year, but we need to vote him out," Propes said.

Other Trump supporters joined and echoed Propes.
William Billew, 74, was tired of Graham “wishy-washiness."

“(Graham) doesn’t need to use Trump to get where he needs to go again,” Billew said.

He felt the South Carolina Senator sided with Democrats when it suited him and pedestalized Trump when it mattered. This made him an unreliable lawmaker, Billew said.

Trump ally Lindsey Graham booed off the stage at MAGA rally near his South Carolina hometown

People gather on the day of former U.S. President Donald Trump's "Make America Great Again" rally in Pickens, South Carolina, July 1, 2023.

REUTERSA rowdy crowd of South Carolina conservatives rained boos and catcalls on their home-state Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham Saturday, as he sought to praise former President Donald Trump during a hurried 5-minute speech.

“Calm down for a second … I was born in this county,” Graham pleaded amid jeers and calls of “traitor!”

“It took a while to get there … but I’ve come to like President Trump, and he likes himself. And we’ve got that in common,” said Sen. Graham.APAn estimated 30,000 conservatives had swarmed the streets of Pickens to see Trump.REUTERSAn estimated 30,000 conservatives had swarmed the streets of the tiny town of Pickens to see Trump — who made its Independence Day celebration the center of his campaign effort in the early-voting state’s 2024 primary — and had little patience for Graham.

“I found common ground with President Trump,” the senator insisted, as the taunts continued. “It took a while to get there … but I’ve come to like President Trump, and he likes himself. And we’ve got that in common.”

Nikki Haley, and Sen. Tim Scott, on the ballot as well.

Graham, an on-again, off-again Trump ally, begged his own donors to give cash to Trump in the wake of his April indictment by Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg — but his past criticism of Trump’s policies and demeanor continues to rankle the former president’s most devoted supporters.
