Lindsey Graham to endorse Jeb Bush for president

CHARLESTON, S.C. — Senator Lindsey Graham is expected to endorse former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush for president this morning, according to two sources familiar with the plans.

Graham, a hawkish South Carolina senator and influential foreign policy voice, had been running for president until last month when he dropped out.

His endorsement is a major get for Bush, who has struggled to gain traction in the contest. The former governor is looking to make a South Carolina, along with New Hampshire, a key state in his push for the Republican nomination.

Since he dropped out last month, Graham’s endorsement has been sought by a number of presidential candidates. His home state colleague, Sen. Tim Scott, has remained uncommitted in the contest.
