    Lone Protester- VICTORY

    Lone Protester- VICTORY 02/21/08

When the clerk of court read my verdict yesterday I was on pins and needles. I just wanted to jump out of my chair and shout to the heavens. Not guilty. And it was over, just those two little words and everything was alright in my world once again. I am not a defendant any longer because I have been found not guilty. It was like a thousand pounds had been lifted off my chest. There is a God in Heaven. And the Americans on that jury saw the truth and responded just like I figured they would.

When they called me to the witness stand I tried to come across as positive as I could. My lawyer passed me the pictures my son took as he asked questions. And I passed them to the jury. I told them about sitting on that hot road handcuffed and holding my protest sign as high as I could. I passed that picture to them and said I was proud of it. One thing I noticed was that more than one of the jurors was nodding as I was talking. They were really listening to me and seeing that what I was telling them was the truth. They agreed with me!

When the prosecutor started questioning me he said “so your business is doing badâ€

This is wonderful! Congratulations on your win and thank you for standing your ground. Maybe if we white collar folks had done the same we could have slowed things down. There is an American worker replacement action going down at Chrysler right now (http://www.computerworld.com/action/art ... src=kc_top)

Of course you weren't guilty!! Guilty of being a hero and standing your ground maybe.

Congrats Lone Protester!!! I'm glad you stood your ground and made a statement. Your experience shows the other side of the story...the ugly side that no one will acknowledge. Thank you.

    Great Job Lone Protestor!

I hope you can fianlly feel somewhat free now!
I'll take your actions to be a learning tool. Those jurors aren't rich biggots and when they see another American just like them being discriminated against and civily violated the American people will win everytime. If more peope do these protest and actions to cause jury trials, we will win everytime. As long as we can take the verdicts out of the corrupt politicians, judges and institutional sell outs hands and put them in the hands of American law abiding jurors we will be just fine. The people spoke and they spoke for Americans and the real America that we know.

GRAET JOB AND GREAT GUTS! I COMMEND YOU SIR!
Unless we get those criminals & make them pay for what they have done to our country and the lawlessness they have sponsored, we are just another Mexico ourselves!

Oh, Lone Protester, I'm not so sure I'd call this a small battle. I believe you won a big battle for the citizens of the United States and this terrible injustice of having our jobs pulled away from us by people who have entered our country illegally.

I sincerely believe that this battle which you chose to fight by standing your ground and by not waivering or giving in one bit will have important implications on the direction our country takes regarding this problem of illegal immigration.

(As I'm writing this that commercial just ran on TV about the number of jobs being taken away by illegal aliens!!! It's a GREAT commercial!)

Many people would have become scared and would not have chosen the admirable path which you chose in dealing with this frightening situation. You did this for our country, and we certainly owe you our respect and gratitude. Mere words of appreciation just don't seem to be enough.

It seems as though a parade would be in order!!!! :P

Thank God!! We can only imagine how relieved and overjoyed you must feel. Rest assured we share that with you!

Betsy Ross: Thanks for publishing this link. I live in the same area as Chrysler and I was told that I should apply there for an IT job. The article tells about roughly the same situation I ran into at Ford Motors when I worked there as a contractor several years ago. One of the things that had attracted me to Ford was their policy of sending contracted employees to training classes. However, when I tried to apply for training I was told that the rules had been changed and I was not allowed to get training. Yet, when several employees from India with my same job classification worked with me, they were encouraged to get training. I remember one Indian employee who was reading a "Linux for Dummies" book because he had been hired for that position with no previous experience.

A word about the US Department of Labor. I saw a publication put out by the department that stated that one of its goals was the replacement of American workers by foreign ones. Very similar language to Bush, so it was probably his idea. Don't know if the National Labor review board is infected with the same corruption or not.

    Wow and phew...

    Thanks for the report.

Oddly enough, as I was reading your post a woman on our local radio said how angry she was that she recently heard we were spending more supporting illegal aliens then we spent supporting our troops and veterans.

Congratulations, now I hope you can get your attorney to file a suit against the people that are to blame for this madness. Keep us posted if you decide to move on them!

But first, is there any way we can get you over to the SC legislature to try and stop what the SC Chamber of Commerce is trying to do to the bill that would help your situation? Your testimony to state legislators could be a big help right now.

Court clears roofer who protested ‘illegals’
Funderburk found not guilty of disorderly conduct

    NOELLE PHILLIPS

A Lugoff roofer who gained national attention for getting arrested while protesting illegal immigration was found not guilty of disorderly-conduct charges Wednesday in Columbia Municipal Court.

Terry Funderburk, 52, who calls himself The Lone Protester and was featured on a national TV news program, was arrested July 16 in an affluent Columbia subdivision after police said he caused a disturbance while protesting workers installing copper roofing on a home.

Funderburk believed the workers were illegal immigrants because he said they looked Hispanic. He had bid to work on the home, but the owner chose another roofer.

Funderburk asked for a jury trial, saying he had not violated any laws during the protest. Funderburk said he had refused plea bargains because he believed he had not committed a crime.

    “I’ve been vindicated,â€
