Mitt Romney and the CFR question
I keep seeing this on the board.
What year was Mitt Romney a member of CFR?
Here's CFR's website contact link, which should help you in your research.

I don't have the answer but I havn't seen anyone else
put up the proof
If someone has proof , I'd like to see it and then I'll humbly
apologize and fall on my sword

Mitt is not a member of the CFR. Search on this wiKpedia page
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Council_on ... _Relations
Ron Paul supporters always bring up the CFR thing when in fact it’s not important to RP since Chuck Hagel is a member of the CFR(search the wikipedia page) yet RP would vote for him

.And check this out.
Its membership list is a who's who of Washington and Wall St. elite going back nearly a century. It should not be surprising that most presidential candidates in the 2008 election are CFR members. Candidates do not advertise their CFR membership to the public. They pose as "liberals" and "conservatives" to control all aspects of the debate. The CFR has stacked the deck for the 2008 election with several members in the race from both sides of the aisle:
Democrat CFR Candidates:
Barack Obama
Hillary Clinton
John Edwards
Chris Dodd
Bill Richardson
Republican CFR Candidates:
Mitt Romney
Rudy Giuliani
John McCain
Fred Thompson
Newt Gingric

I think Romney is just an affiliate of the CFR....like George W. Bush.
For those seeking Mitt Romney's membership in the CFR all you have to do is look at the CFR website:
http://www.cfr.org/bios/13226/mitt_romney.html
Nixon was a CFR member. Romney's father was in the Nixon cabinent & as far as I remember, only CFR members have gotten a cabinent post in the last 50 years, (plus a search on their website gets you tons of views.)
Which includes the following statements:
...Romney elaborates in a summer 2007 Foreign Affairs article, saying he would like to create a "Partnership for Prosperity and Progress" aimed at supporting moderate Muslims in economic, health, rule of law and other areas to help them "defeat radical and violent Islam." (FA is the CFR in house publication)
This article claims that Romney is surrounded by pro-UN lobbyists:

The CFR website link you source is a candidate profile on Romney. It is not an indication of membership or affiliation with the CFR.

I checked a couple lists for different years and cannot find him on it. My only issue with him is that he has flip flopped and gave that speech to the CFR which just might be part of an application for membership. I just cannot prove it. It is just that when you take the time to analyze all the problems facing this country, The CFR comes up as behind all of them. Globalization, insourcing, outsourcing, the war on the middle class, the NAU, and even illegal immigration has been deliberately created or caused by the actions of the CFR. It has been stated that NAFTA is responsible for at least 69% of illegal immigration. However, I suspect that it is closer to 85%.

I don't see any indiction Romney is a member either.
However while at their site I read a recent article under foreign affairs titled -Global Corporate Citizenship - written by Klaus Schwab which leaves no doubt the corporate world is engaged in a plan for world domination and talks about the end to sovereign nations. A MUST READ long article."A Government big enough to give you everything you want,is strong enough to take everything you have"* Thomas Jefferson
