WAKE COUNTY, N.C. (WRAL) - A man is facing a murder charge in the death of a Wake County deputy.
One of the brothers who sources told WRAL News was being questioned about the shooting death last week of Wake County Deputy Ned Byrd has been charged with murder.
Arturo Marin-Sotelo faces a murder charge and is scheduled to appear in court at 2 p.m.
The date of the offense was listed as Thursday, Aug. 11, the same night the Wake County Sheriff’s Office believes Byrd was killed.




Marin-Sotelo and Alder Alfonso Marin were taken into custody Tuesday in Burke County, west of Wake County, for questioning in the killing of Byrd.
Wednesday night, multiple sources told WRAL News that a truck connected to the killing of a Wake County deputy was located and picked up in Winston-Salem.
The truck, which was reported to be white by police, was said to have been painted red before being picked up and taken back to Wake County.
The truck was seen by a WRAL crew going into the Wake County Detention Center Wednesday night before it was taken elsewhere

-- (Raleigh, NC) WSOC and WRAL are reporting that two undocumented migrants have been arrested in Burke County, where the U.S. Marshals Service and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol arrested brothers Alder and Auturo Marin Sotelo, who are being held under federal immigration detainers for "federal offense by being in the country illegally after state troopers said they found a loaded firearm during a traffic stop in 2021."
