Hoping for the Next Four Months to Pass Quickly

I am longing every day to leave the state of AZ and go back to my home state of Michigan. We will be moving to the UP of Michigan in May, I prey every day that these next four months will go by fast. I absolutely dread the Phoenix area and have never seen the likes of all this. I have started going to church in hopes that God will help me through all this and I literally had to search for a church that does NOT offer service in Spanish around here. I felt that even if I was going to be sitting in for the English service I do not want to support a church that caters to the Spanish community nor do I want to associate with these people any more than I have to.

There is literally no getting away from the incessant Spanish chattering, I literally just had to shut my door because of all these bad arse kids yelling in Spanish outside. And guess what??? THEY are overcrowding my child's school! I turn on the radio in my car and several of the channels are in Spanish, I cannot watch the news without these dumb news anchors interviewing people who speak Spanish and the news anchors translating for them.

I can't wait to get out of here, I truly can't. My last classes here started today, both my daughter and I finish school here in May. We are going back to Michigan and we are going ALL the way to the UP where most illegals do not dare to roam, probably due to the fact that they cannot take the harsh winters.

The one thing I am truly thankful for is the fact that I am a Michigander and not a native Arizonian who has to watch their home be destroyed by invaders. At least I do have a home to go back to that has not been ravaged by invaders thus far.

When we leave here in May I am never and I mean NEVER gonna look back on Phoenix again. And I am NEVER letting my mother talk us into coming here again. Ok, done with my rant for today. :P

I'm never going to run from the invasion I'm going to stay till I die ( which will probally be sooner than later ). My grandfathers and uncles and even my father have faught for my country all the way back to the civil war. I refuse to be the first generation to turn the other cheek and run. I raise my children to be proud of who we are and what we have ( even though its not much )and respect others weather they differ in race, religion, wealthy or poor we are all the same. If we give in to this invasion and move away at some point they will find us and by then have more power than they already do! So I say stand in defiance of the onslaut of invaders and keep useing your voice as your tool to deal with this b.s. at this point my only hope is that the rest of the country will find it in their hearts to stand with me on this! I'm in the minority here in southren california and still don't qualifiy for anything! As a joke I always say white the new black and its never been truer

Drama, I live in SE Michigan. Every parade going through this small town has Hispanic representation and for an entire month, the Mexican flag flies on City Hall property. Hope you find your happiness back here. Good luck.

Unfortunatly the illegals have spread nationwide and while a smaller segment is up north, they still are here. You also have alot of bleeding hearts in states like Or and Wa. who think that the latinos are being terrorized and illegals are all wonderful persecuted poor souls. Each has its cross to bear and will have to meet up with its own segment of population who wants amnisty and Dream.

I spent most of my life in Oakland county MI, mostly Waterford and Clarkston. I left in Aug 2009, it was never over run to this extreme, never. If I were a native Arizonian I would stay and fight it, but I'm just going to go home.

BillCunnane, I am in NWestern Oregon, born and raised here. The big ag nurseries and tree farms love the illegals because they are cheap labor. Then the Eugene, Portland and Salem liberals buy into the idea of the poor undocumented immigrants. All the while, their own constituents are losing jobs daily to illegals.

The joke will be on these people when they start seeing them for what they are mod edit drainging the natural and man made recources dry, sucking the life out of once thriving clean communities. I can say this all, I have lived within them and have seen what they did to the town we lived in for almost 20 years.

Thedramaofmylife, do what you have to in order to live happily. It is not you giving into illegals (some call it "white flight"), but it is just living where you can feel more at home. We lived in a complex in the outer reaches of the major metro region, and it was torture from day one. Police presence constantly, gangs, drug deals, loud music in summer through winter, looking into our living room window and flipping us off, harassing our kids (till our teen son shot up to 6 foot and gained a large mass of muscle). Finally we were able to find a place, way out of town, and it is heaven. I cannot wait for summer to experience the peace and quiet we will have, and the feeilng of safety this area will bring us.

Good luck to you, keep your cool and do a lot of praying (God can help). In the meanttime, keep to yourself, avoid spending your energies trying to fight these people down there, it will wear you out and make your next four months miserable.

I know you are right about Washington at least.....I live in this state. It is all about numbers....they are here, but not in the numbers present in California, Nevada and Arizona. But, they are here. Also, their cheap labor is not "cheap". Pruners in north central Wa. make $15.00 an hour....that is nearly double what the minimum wage in Washington state is. They are flocking here because of that minimum wage and the distribution of benefits of DSHS, AND the stand Arizona has taken and the lack of construction work there. Talk to someone who lives in south King County (Seattle area) Currently, you cannot walk into a WalMart and hear anything but Spanish spoken. There is little agriculture in south King County, but they are there none the less. The eastern Washington town of Wenatchee's Latino count in the public school system is now at 40%. The sheriffs blotters in these towns tell the real story.

AE! You moved!?! When was this? Im SO happy for you! I've been reading your posts for years now and your family being able to leave that place is music to my ears (or eyes)! Congrats to you and your loved ones.

Drama, I've also been following your posts and also check in to your blog once in a while as I get time. You need to do right by your little girl. It is your duty to protect her and yourself. I wish you only the best and a safe happy move.

During the next 4 months, just keep your eyes on the prize and your nose to the grindstone and it should go fast. Home is where the heart is (most of the time). I hope that you do not become to complacent in your fight against illegals once you leave them behind in AZ. At the current rate they are coming here and having kids, they will soon be taking over MI too. We can leave and hopscotch all over the country, but really, all we are doing is buying time. Please don't forget about us once you go home.

SicNTiredInSoCal, yep, got a place just outside of the town where I grew up, outside of the city limits, and it is on about an acre we have for our own use. Our only two close neighbors are an elderly couple who have lived here since 1958 (this property was her aunts) and another widowed man next to us (in his mid/late 60's).

In fact SicNTiredInSoCal, one afternoon, my son and I were outside re-doing the goofed up henhouse roof and up to our gate walked the elderly neighbor, he smiled and sauntered in just to say hi and see how the coop was going. Chatted for a bit and said goodbye. After he left, I got a shiver down my spine, smiled and looked up to my son and said "these are our neighbors now", he grinned and said "yeah, pretty great". The only interactions we ever had with neighbors in town were nasty, always being initiated by them, never friendly.

Before this, around Christmas, we spared to roaming dogs from being hit, they had wandered from home. No tags, we input them into the county lost dog system and the next morning the owner called (from down the road) and came for them. Five days before Christmas, she and her daughter came over with a card and a plate of goodies they baked to thank us for helping them....My kids stood in awe at the door. Door closed and in unison, the two teens said "whoa, that was awesome".

Though we do have some slightly longer commute times, but even my husband said it was worth it.

BillCunnane, my fathers family was from that area (Cashmere and Waterville). We used to go to Lake Chelan where my grandmother ran a concession stand (back in the early 70's). He used to talk about going to his great aunts place in Okonogan to go "apple knockin'". It has changed so much and demographically, not for the better. Though a couple of years back we took a trip up there to Leavenworth, and loved it (love the area). I have read some about the problems the police and sheriffs office have up there, plus have been told Wenatchee now has a bad meth problem to boot.
