Thread: News Letter from Team America,,,plan of attack!

Dear Friend,

First let me thank you for all the bricks you have sent to Congress.
The
New York Times reported today that Congress has been inundated with
them—more than 10,000!! It is getting the attention of the press and
has
made an impression on a number of Congressmen. They’re all talking and
understand better than ever that Americans are serious about their
border!

A note on the treacherous Senate bill---I didn’t think it possible but
it
gets worse as the details emerge.

The bill requires the U.S. government to consult with Mexico before we
build that fence—that’s right 62 Senators are demanding we clear it
with
Mexico before we secure our nation!

They also voted to give social security to illegals. I love this!
Illegal aliens, who have a history of dealing in forged documents, are
being asked to produce documents proving they worked here for umpteen
years, so they can get social security for all those years of work!
Forgers are going to have one of their best years ever.

The bill also gives illegals an option to pay only three of the last
five
years in back taxes. And they have 8 years to do that. As for you
law-abiding Americans—the word is Suckers!

The 62 Senators who betrayed this nation with their vote need to be
ejected from office. They care nothing about the burden they put on
Americans, or the harm they are doing our nation. It’s all about
winning
Hispanic voters, pleasing corporate interests, and furthering their own
political futures.

But you already knew this.

So the question is what do we do about it? I have a plan.

Many of you are anxious for a national march on Washington. I have
seriously looked into it--talked to many, thought about how best to do
it,
even reserved the national mall. My professional opinion: a march is
not
the best use of our efforts.

I know for certain that those massive rallies by illegal immigrants
galvanized our side. Americans across the country were shocked by the
number of illegals in our cities and unnerved by their demands. We
shouldn’t be too hasty to follow their lead.

Secondly, to do it right we need months of planning and hundreds of
thousands of dollars. We simply can’t afford to spend our resources on
a
march. They are desperately needed to stop the Senate bill from
passing
the House!

So how do we stop the Congress from folding under the enormous pressure
and agreeing to some guest worker provision?

First, I propose we try to defeat Congressman Chris Cannon, an open
border
Republican from Utah. His primary is on June 27. Cannon, aka King of
Amnesty, is so worried he is running as a clone of Tom Tancredo. Team
America plans to set the record straight with some hard hitting radio
ads
that will expose the Congressman’s abysmal record on immigration.

Defeating Cannon will send shock waves through Congress. Every one of
those lawmakers will understand the message---“back down from your no
amnesty position and pay the price in November.”

We must let these Congressmen know immigration is a voting issue—they
saw
it in the city council race in Herndon, VA and again in the governor’s
race in Nebraska. To see a Congressman lose a primary over it will
resonate far more powerfully than any march.

So that is the immediate plan—target Cannon. Then another, and
another…until we have removed the cancer entirely. We must take back
our
country from those who are so willing to sell it out.

Tomorrow I meet with my media team to begin developing the ads against
Cannon.

With your support I know we can buy the necessary media to defeat this
Congressman, and replace him with one who will fight for border
security
and oppose all amnesties.

I hope you will help.

I wish there were more we could do. I will follow Tancredo's advice.

This is really confusing for me. I'm no political analyst for sure. Now this guy Cannon has a lousy record of voting on immigration issues. I imagine he's been getting hammered about his stance from his constituents. Now he wants to run on fulfilling the wishes of his citizens. Maybe he's changed, maybe not. The message to the voters is "I'm with you on the issue of no amnesty for illegals." How can you smash him while he's running with an anti-amnesty platform? What message would this send? I mean we're depending on our letters changing minds, but then we will disallow them when they do?

Maybe that is how the "radio ads" Team America are going to run... will expose him for the two faced liar he really is.

I agree that we must send a message to the Congress that even a front runner will be voted out of office if he is a pro amnesty candidate.

One example like this election will send shockwaves across America to further prove we're not going to accept amnesty.

LVL...there is more than one congressman serving now who ran on an anti-amnesty ticket...as soon as they were voted in they turned coat.

This Cannon person has suddenly changed his tune...b/c he wants to keep his seat...and then he'll do as he danged well pleases. He's already bitten us once...he should not be given the opportunity to bite us again...( us being anti illegals).

This radio ad thing will expose him for the liar that he is. I have said I will support candidates that are anti amnesty...and I will..even if they're not from my state...doesn't matter...if they get amnesty in it will affect us across this nation.

If all of us could donate $10...that would be a help...last election Cannon outspent his opponent by 8 to 1....he's got a big war chest...

Concernedcitizen, I agree with your strategy to concentrate current effort on this critical June election. It will send an early message to politicians who are showing more loyalty to Mexico than to the U.S. I sent my donation to John Jacobs directly through his website to make sure his campaign is targeted.

I feel the same way. If the candidate is against Amnesty, I support them.

That's exactly what Cannon will do, get re-elected and do as he pleases, and support Amnesty!

I hope the citizens of his state see him for the liar he really is, and send their message loud and clear..... vote him OUT in both elections!

Once voted out...The American people can ask our so called Amnesty loving leaders...CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW???

A leopard can't change his spots I guess, but a person can change their mind. Isn't that what we're counting on by putting pressure on legislators? I'm threatening their seat when I write to legislators. Don't I kind of have a contract with them if they vote correctly on my issue?

Seems like we might be creating a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation. We'll be constantly getting into the old "chicken and egg" thing. I'm throwing my lot with the advice from ALIPAC leadership on this one.

A Cannon loss would be great, but ALIPAC is going to take a different route. It is great that we have several different strong groups fighting on different fronts.

If we do things right, we will be able to build up pressure in many Congressional seats and light fires that will affect many votes.
