    NJ:Casa Freehold's New DEMANDS

Freehold, NJ illegal alien group "Casa Freehold", just doesn't take NO for an answer! JUST LOOK AT THE DEMANDS! I will also post a rebuttal article from todays paper below.

Group spells out goals for immigration reformPosted by the Asbury Park Press on 07/16/07

FREEHOLD β€” A comprehensive immigration reform policy in a country by, for and of the people needs to come from those who will be affected by the policy, an immigrant rights group believes.

The group, Casa Freehold, hosted a forum Sunday at the First Presbyterian Church on Main Street during which the approximately 20 attendees devised a list of principles they believe must be included in any immigration reform bill that comes out of Congress.

"It is the direct involvement of people in government policy, we feel, that is the essence of democracy, that it's not from the top down, but from the bottom up," said John Leschak of Howell, who is involved with Casa and will be attending law school at Hofstra University on Long Island in the fall.

    The principles call for:

An end to raids and deportation

An expansion of the work and family visa program

Reform of the Guest Worker Program

    Legalization now

Immediate unconditional amnesty Decreased border militarization

    Protection of immigrant-worker rights

Union benefits and workers' compensation for foreign workers that is equivalent to that of U.S.-born workers

Protection of families and family unification

Support for a part of the immigration code known as "245 I," which allows an immigrant to apply for a change in legal status while he or she is still in the country.

Leschak also said those at the forum endorsed the Dream Act, a bill that would make foreign-born people with legal residency eligible for the same higher education benefits as native-born residents. There is a state version of this legislation in the Assembly now, he said.

He added that immigration, because of its very nature, needs to be multinational and that the system could be greatly improved if the U.S. worked with other countries instead of using the current approach.

The group is calling on everyone inside the U.S. borders, citizens and noncitizens alike, to come together and support these "humane" principles and to contact their legislators.

Current and proposed methods of handling the immigration situation in this country β€” that include "militarizing the border" β€” promote hate, racism and division, according to Teresa Gutierrez of Queens, a member of the May 1 Committee, another immigrant rights organization.

She said an electric fence along the U.S.-Mexico border will cost $20 million to build and $1 million a day to maintain when that money could be better spent on initiatives such as funding cash-strapped local schools. Some parents in the Freehold School District blame illegal immigrants, who they say do not contribute to the tax base, for the district's funding and overcrowding problem.

"It's a lie that immigrants rob services," Gutierrez said.

Immigrants pay taxes every time they make a purchase, and they also pay income and property taxes, according to Gutierrez and to Casa-provided literature citing the National Academy of Sciences, Cato Institute, Urban Institute, and the Social Security Administration.

"We have to ask ourselves why the anti-immigration hysteria is rearing its ugly head around the world," she said.

Gutierrez noted that people migrate to other countries out of desperation and, in the case of the U.S., because of that and because of failed economic policies such as the North American Free Trade Agreement.

She said, immigrants in part made this country a superpower and they still contribute to this country.

"People have to ask what kind of society do they want to live in," she said.

A Freehold immigrants rights group's list of what should be included in any immigration reform bill has us wondering: Are they serious?

Among the "principles" suggested by members of Casa Freehold at a forum Sunday: unconditional amnesty and immediate legalization, an end to raids and deportation, and union benefits and workers' compensation for foreign workers that are equal to what citizens receive. We're surprised they didn't also demand a free McMansion, plasma TV and SUV for every illegal family.

What an absurd sense of entitlement.

They want to give a free pass and extend more benefits to people who broke the law to get here. That would give the green light to millions more to forgo green cards and worker visas, knowing that once they get two feet over the border, they are free to start making demands.

Illegal immigration is a serious problem. Unconditionally forgiving every person who broke the law getting into this country and loosening border security are not among the answers. Neither is any immigration bill that doesn't provide for secure borders, impose stiff penalties on employers who hire illegal immigrants, mandate the issuance of tamper-proof national identification cards and empower local police to enforce immigration laws.

An effective immigration reform bill must end the practice of granting automatic citizenship to children born here of non-citizen parents, make it illegal for states to issue driver's licenses to people who are unable to prove they have legal status, refuse school enrollment of children whose parents can't prove legal status and withhold social services other than emergency medical care from anyone not in this country legally.

Illegal immigrants should be allowed to return home and apply for readmission as guest workers, and a limited number of guest workers with a multi-year path to citizenship should be authorized.

The economic stress placed on our hospitals, social services and school districts because of unchecked illegal immigration is well-documented. What other country would stand by while swarms of people entered the country illegally, then held marches, demonstrations and press conferences demanding their rights? And held forums insisting that the laws on the books governing illegal immigration be ignored?

Turning a blind eye to the problem, as our federal government has done for years, only encourages such arrogance. It's time to put an end to it.

Amnesty: The USA should declare amnesty from prosecution for illegal entry by allowing all in this country to leave and return to their native country over the next 90 days.

All illegals who can not afford to go home shall be given interest free loans for transportation back to their homes.

After 90 days: Anyone caught in the country illegally shall be deported and not allowed to return to the United States. Their names will be placed on the terrorist watch list and barred from entry.

Those that have returned home in the 90 day amnesty period will be given expedited applications for citizenship. They will be able to re - enter the country legally upon completion and acceptance of their request for citizenship.

All new births within the country: For a new birth to qualify as a citizen, that infant must have at least one parent already a citizen.

All peoples caught attempting to enter the country illegally shall be deported instantly. The costs associated with deportation shall be billed against trade with that country.

Balance in imigration. Natives of different countries should be treated fairly and at no time should one nation's immigrants into the USA be greater than anothers.

All immigrants would have to qualify for social services the same way a citizen has to qualify.

During the 90 day amnesty from prosecution no one shall be barred from voluntarily returning to their native land.

Any one employing an illegal shall be fined $1000.00 per day, per violation.

Boy don't I wish it was an electric fence! This people are so misinformed it's pathetic. First off, the fence is not electric. Secondly, It'll cost much more than $20 million to build. Third, I don't recall ever hearing the $1 million a day number for fence maintenance.

This is a real laugh, they don't want us to secure the border, but they do expect us to pay for the education of their children.

[Immigrants pay taxes every time they make a purchase]

They pay the tax in the store but they can fill out a US form which gets them reimbursed those same taxes. The US cannot tax non-citizens. This goes on daily in border states, perhaps nationwide.

Illegals and even those with green cards buy big-ticket items and less expensive things, even their clothing and groceries, save their receipt, fill out the form and get the sales tax refund.

They drive on our roads, use our schools etc and get their sales taxes back in cash. Once again, Americans get the shaft.

How about this next: "A comprehensive wealth redistribution reform policy in a country by, for and of the people needs to come from those who will be affected by the policy, a bank robbers rights group believes."

Oh no, no way........they are still getting amnesty!!!!!! They should return home and TAKE THEIR PLACE AT THE END OF THE LINE. PERIOD.

Actually, since lawbreakers are not to be allowed in, ANYONE WHO WORKED HERE AS AN ILLEGAL HAS BROKEN ANY NUMBER OF LAWS AND SHOULD BE INELIGIBLE TO COME AT ALL.

What does worry me is if a Democratic administration gets in--will federal enforcement actions go from little to zero? The OBL is not holding its breath---it keeps training lawyers. Have you noticed how so many of its conferences are held at law schools?

Hope they just end up with a bunch of overtrained law grads. I guess the best hope is that the will of the people will be reflected in judges' decisions no matter what the OBL lawyers throw up as arguments. And the people's will in continuing legislative actions.

Wow! That really is some kinda nerve.

It looks like New Jersey is almost as crazy as here in LA. The problem lies with the NJ elected officials. Menendez sponsors this type of radical destructiveness, and Lautenberg buries his head in the sand. That's just the way it happened here; one loon gets elected, most probably because of illegal voting, then another the same way, then another, and the other electeds just stand by and watch so they don't offend that new "pool" and selfishly hope that pool keeps electing them. Very shortsighted and very bad for America.

The judges don't care about the will of the people! If they did, pedophiles would spend life in prison instead of getting slaps on the wrist.

    The liberal judges are worthless.
