Great question, nntrixie. I think they're largely being detained because they don't have enough immigration judges to rule on a deportation order. 12 new judges were sworn in recently, 50 more are in the pipeline, there are still 70 vacancies. There are 289, before the 12 and the 50. It wasn't clear if the 50 are part of the 70 or after the 50, there are 20 vacancies or the 70 are vacancies with no one in the pipeline to fill them, the latter is what I thought from the news report today, but it wasn't very clear. We need at least 2000 of these judges for the next several years, seems to me. There's a 508,000 person back-log waiting for hearings that will take at least 2 years to clear before any new ones are added and they're added every day.

A Congressman has introduced a bill to get this immigration judge agency more judges and staff. Didn't say how much or how many, but hopefully a lot.

The excuse of "great hearts" has been used for decades now to continue illegal immigration. President Trump and company need to stop this. You must tell those who are illegally here that the American people will no longer be second. America First. The American people are where hearts should show compassion.

Hearts and minds should demand countries fix themselves and allow their citizens to survive and thrive there. Taking millions and billions from us and making no progress must end. We have been throwing money away while corruption and evil is fostered with American taxpayer dollars. Foreign citizens need to demonstrate and riot and vote in their nations, not ours.

Funny to me how no one shows any "heart" for kids and young people arrested on non-violent drug charges with pot being the leader by far, yet they want to show "heart" to a bunch of drug-running, gang affiliated, con artists with scripted sob stories on why they should stay and perpetuate this illegal foreign drug business in our country all the while stealing jobs from Americans, stealing benefits from taxpayers, and daring to protest in our streets because we want our laws enforced.

It's just mind-boggling what's been going on.

The discussion should be with THEIR President's and their President having a "heart" on what they are going to do with them.

Many of them have gotten their education here...and some jobs.

Their President needs to use this as an opportunity to take them back and put them to work on their soil.

SEND THE "GOOD" ONES BACK TOO! THEIR COUNTRY NEEDS THEM IN ORDER FOR THEIR COUNTRY TO SUCCEED AND PROSPER.

Trump says he will treat Dreamers 'with heart'

I wish the President would say we have already shown them 'heart'.

We have educated them, fed them, housed them, medicated them.

These are all resources paid for by American tax dollars and resources that should have been used for Americans and their children.

I'm thinking that's 'heart' enough.

There is nothing wrong with telling them to now go home and use what they have been given to make their own country better.
