To everyone: I have not been real involved here and fairly new but I'd like to make a suggestion. The Constitution Party has already started and is already somewhat known. I'd like for each of you to check this out:

    http://www.constitutionparty.com/party_platform.php

They start off their preamble with a religious tone which may not do well these days but if you will read the rest of their platform, I suspect as truly conservative american's you may find a lot with which you agree. I'm sorry to someone who mentioned social security, you may not agree with their stated position (I do) but so much of their platform is going back to what our forefathers intended for our nation to be.

I'd be very interested in your thoughts on their platform.

    Guys,

Please forgive me if I offended anyone regarding having patriotic music on hand. No way, I would never try to offend anyone at ALIPAC. You are the people I most respect and appreciate.

I meant you probably don't have patriotic music on hand, simply because it's not really a common household item. I happen to have a patriotic tape from homeschooling our kids. It's all fuzzy and broken up. Still every blue moon when I'm really caring about America I'll track it down and put it on. I love it.

When we first got it about 4 years ago, the kids almost fainted when I put it on AS LOUD AS POSSIBLE and played it 50 times over and over and over!!!!! But guess what?! Now they always are quiet and listen when they hear patriotic music on the rare times we run into it somewhere! They love football games. But when the Star Spangled Banner comes on....our house is quiet. They are listening, and I know it means a whole lot to them. Mission Accomplished, I guess.

I just looked up the past 4 elections for Rep. Shaw, hes virtualy a lock in every election.

    2004- 63%
    2002- 61%
    2000- 50% (won by 599 votes)
    1998- 61%

On his website he says he is a staunch free trader, but would it be wise to vote him out because on his immigration report card he has a career average of an A- and a recent B+. It's a shame that Shaw has done this, because he is a fairly good representative on immigration.

True American...I glanced through the beginnings of their platform and the first part is a problem for a political party. For example, I am a Christian, a Southern Baptist. In our Southern Baptist religion, we have differences of opinion. Over the years, there have been many off-shoots of this religion. There are many different Baptists, who agree on many things but disagree of some things. Baptists are Protestants and are Catholics, but Baptists and Catholics, both Christian, all believe in Jesus, all study the Bible and its teachings but have over the years found differents ways to practice the religion and have different views of church doctrine even on very major issues.

Even if every American was a Christian and believed in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, there would be no agreement amongst them when it comes to politics.

That is the fundamental reason that our forefathers while recognizing God and submitting to the existence of a higher authority than man, they separated our government from religion while preserving for everyone their freedom to believe and practice their own religion.

When I was growing up, there were two rules at the dinner table, you never discuss politics and you never discuss religion. Why? Because invariably there will be an argument and ruin the digestive process.

I believe basic concepts like "In God We Trust" and "Under God" and the 10 Commandments displayed in various places are about as far as the United States can go politically on the topic of religion because they are separate for good reason, so that no one group in the name of religion dictates to another creating conflict amongst the people of the Nation.

As things are now, every religion has the freedom to exist in the United States, to be recognized, respected, treated fairly and equally in the eyes of the law. This protects the members of these churches to exercise their freedom of religion in peace and with the full protection of our laws. This protects our religion and right to practice it and in return we respect others and their right to practice their religion.

The United States has always been a Christian Nation. Not because of political platforms or laws or rulings, but simply because the Majority of our Nation is Christian. The reason Christians are bringing the religion forward into politics is out of fear and rightly so. They see their demographics changing; they see their security and neighborhoods changing; they see foreign people with foreign practices with foreign beliefs with foreign cultures all around them everywhere they go.

Why is that? Veeeeery simple. Our US Government has failed to enforce US Immigration Law allowing unacceptable numbers of foreign nationals nto the United States at a rate that is alarming; of invasion proportions; illegally altering the cultural, social, religious and political make-up of the United States.

This can not be tolerated any longer by the American People. It must be stopped. But it must be stopped in a manner that does not focus on religion because if that is the tool we use to try and take back our country, we will have defied one of the greatest foundations our forefathers gave us which was the separation of government from our religious beliefs which at some point some day would result in the control of the government over our must fundamental inalienable rights: Freedom of Religion; Freedom of Speech: Right to Assemble; Right to Bear Arms; etc. They are all linked together even those assured later with Amendments to ensure a Free, Happy and Contented People of the United States.

When citizens are assured of their freedom and pursuit of happiness, they are content. That does not mean that life is easy; it does not mean they struggle; it does not mean they ever make a mistake; it does not mean they are victims of crime or cruelty; but it means that there will a fair justice...at least that is the goal....that they are secure with a fair playing field; equality; privacy; and free to pursue their dreams and better lives in peace and harmony in a Nation with other Citizens.

Americans are upset, not because our country has lost touch with God, not because there are infringements upon religion. Americans are upset because they are rapidly losing their Nation that guarantees them a place on this planet, called the United States, where they can be free, happy, content and at peace with one another. This happens in crowded spaces; this happens when there are more people than seats; more people than jobs; more people than the Nation can sustain on this basis. Communism and Dictatorships and Socialism find their footing in over-populated nations where strict order and immense government controls are viewed as the best way to control the unhappy discontented masses.

Americans perhaps more than any other people on earth, need their space. They need this space to live and breathe and go about their daily routines in comfort, security and with contentment.

The illegal immigration and excessive legal immigration of the past 10 years and especially in the past 5 years has done more to undermine the freedom, happiness and contentment of the general American Population than any other single event in American History.

The Constitution Party may want to reconsider the beginning of their platform and find another better way to express what they are trying to achieve with their Party. Then they may have a Party that could become a strong force in American Politics.

Thanks for bringing this to the attention of ALIPAC, True American. It's great to see so many Americans reaching out to find a new political home that what has been available thus far. The two political party sytem has actually worked very well for the United States until now. It always ensured a Majority which in my opinion has kept our country strong and united until now. Now, the country remains strong and united, but the two political parties no longer represent the country.

LegalUSCitizen--No apology required!! I thought you meant that we probably don't have CD or Tapes of Patriotic Music and I for one don't. I play them on the piano and buy them for my niece and nephew but haven't ever bought them for myself. I probably need to do that!!

    Hi folks,

Sorry I was away. Big day today and had to catch a nap from our late night last night.

Let me explain a bit more about ALIPAC's operations.

We have a simplified platform it is in top tool bar on every page. It used to be longer but we have simplified it. We believe that if we do those 4 things our illegal alien population will shrink instead of grow.

As for candidates, there are people already lining up to run out there that want progress on our issue. In early August, ALIPAC plans to launch a national call for candidates.

Before that is done, we will prepare a list of those that we do not want people running against. We will identify which candidates we are likely to defend and support that are already in office.

Once we call for candidates nationally, we will finalize our selection process for 2006. We can't begin to endorse and support most candidates till Jan. 2006 when the filing is complete.

Most of our operations before that time will involve fund raising, raising a larger group of volunteers.

We already have a candidate support team here on the forums and in our volunteers database. ALIPAC volunteers sign up using the top tool bar.

We will be creating a national voter guide that will be in hardcopy print and online so that everyone in America has a resource to judge which candidate is the best choice on the illegal immigration issue.

Once we begin endorsing candidates, ALIPAC contributions to the candidates will be based on many factors. How much money do we have avail and who stands the best chance of winning.

Who has the best chance of winning depends on lots of different factors. It will be very important that we spend ALIPAC's contibution fund wisely and make sure they go where they have the best chance of paying off with a win.

ALIPAC supporters and visitors will also be encouraged to contribute to their favorite candidates we support directly.

We have a great gameplan and we can become the NRA of the illegal immigration issue. It will all depend on how many people and how much funds we can gather for this effort.

    Me running for Congress?

Thank you all for the vote of confidence, but I will hopefully be working overtime managing the ALIPAC operations. There will be good candidates running all over America that need our help and that will be a huge task.

There will also be millions of Americans that want to know who really represents them on this issue. Getting the word out to them will be costly in time and money as well.

If I ran for Congress, ALIPAC would suffer because of the time requirements.

I will post the Constitution parties views on immigration:

We affirm the integrity of the international borders of the United States and the Constitutional authority and duty of the federal government to guard and to protect those borders, including the regulation of the numbers and of the qualifications of immigrants into the country.

Each year approximately one million legal immigrants and almost as many illegal aliens enter the United States. These immigrants - including illegal aliens - have been made eligible for various kinds of public assistance, including housing, education, Social Security, and legal services. This unconstitutional drain on the federal Treasury is having a severe and adverse impact on our economy, increasing the cost of government at federal, state, and local levels, adding to the tax burden, and stressing the fabric of society. The mass importation of people with low standards of living threatens the wage structure of the American worker and the labor balance in our country.

We oppose the abuse of the H-1B and L-1 visa provisions of the immigration act which are displacing American workers with foreign.

We favor a moratorium on immigration to the United States, except in extreme hardship cases or in other individual special circumstances, until the availability of all federal subsidies and assistance be discontinued, and proper security procedures have been instituted to protect against terrorist infiltration.

We also insist that every individual group and/or private agency which requests the admission of an immigrant to the U.S., on whatever basis, be required to commit legally to provide housing and sustenance for such immigrants, bear full responsibility for the economic independence of the immigrants, and post appropriate bonds to seal such covenants.

The Constitution Party demands that the federal government restore immigration policies based on the practice that potential immigrants will be disqualified from admission to the U.S. if, on the grounds of health, criminality, morals, or financial dependence, they would impose an improper burden on the United States, any state, or any citizen of the United States.

We oppose the provision of welfare subsidies and other taxpayer-supported benefits to illegal aliens, and reject the practice of bestowing U.S. citizenship on children born to illegal alien parents while in this country.

We oppose any extension of amnesty to illegal aliens. We call for the use of U.S. troops to protect the states against invasion.

We oppose bilingual ballots. We insist that those who wish to take part in the electoral process and governance of this nation be required to read and comprehend basic English as a precondition of citizenship. We support English as the official language for all governmental business by the United States.

I suspect you will agree with that. Now how about Gun Control (or lack of as stated in our Constitution).

Then the best thing we can do is to support ALIPAC. William, did I understand correctly that ALIPAC will support candidates from around the country or mainly North Carolina?

As Mustang3031 pointed out Clay Shaw had a pretty decent record, in fact regarding illegal immigration, but I was really disappointed in his actions last night. Well, as Mustang points out he admits he is big on free trade.

I feel sort of bad to want to see him leave his office, because he seems to be a good man, and on top of that he has been very sick. This makes me feel a little guilty too, trying to see him lose his job.

But, last night when it was so close, just one or two representatives could have made all the difference in the world.
